to determine when people are most likely to break up
. In addition to the peaks right before Christmas and spring break, there is also a smaller surge prior to the start of summer. (However, summer itself is the season when the fewest breakups occur.)
Monday is the day of the week when breakups are most likely to occur, while Christmas is the day of the year relationships are least likely to end.
Though they may be few, we're pretty sure most Christmas-day breakups probably involve an amazingly bad gift.
