On Sunday, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Steve Johnson dropped a picture-perfect pass, which would have resulted in an overtime victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers went on to defeat the (now) 2–9 Bills, and according to our friends at With Leather, Johnson had a strange way of explaining this most embarrassing of on-field gaffes.
The third-year pro took to Twitter (which seems like it's always a bad idea) and left this message for the man upstairs:
"I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO..."
Putting aside the absurd notion that God would interfere with the results of a football game, how do you feel about Johnson using divine intervention to justify his butterfingers?
| Sure -- he's just trying to deal with a difficult and embarrassing situation | |
|---|---|
| Nope -- it's that kind of fatalism that makes teams 2-9 |

well, in his defense, and there's not much to defend, when something goes well for a player, victory, excellent pass, etc- there is immense praise and thanks given to God....i suppose it would make sense when something goes horribly wrong that (in theory) is easy, a person could be pretty upset with the Big Guy.

He sounds like a little kid, or at least someone who is just unwilling to admit that something is his fault. They weren't supposed to win this one, anyway.
