You may remember Christiaan Van Vuuren -- aka the Fully Sick Rapper -- from a piece we put together earlier this year. He's the TB-stricken Aussie who became an Web sensation after bustin' out some serious rhymes in a quarantined hospital room -- where he spent a total of 187 days before being released.

Since his lonesome days spent in medical solitary confinement, he's made massive strides toward raising awareness for tuberculosis. His most recent endeavor includes a truly impressive feat: breaking the world record for the longest rap. Total time? An exhausting nine hours and 20 minutes.

Says Van Vuuren, "I was challenged online by Mother Lemon Bite [a brand of energy drinks in Australia], so I put it out to my own followers on Facebook and Twitter to see what they thought."

After hearing a chorus of positive feedback from supporters, Van Vuuren decided to give this whole cross-country-rapping thing a crack.

"I got a lot of help from people online who could submit their own lyrics," the Aussie rapper tells Asylum. "I included heaps of other people's lyrics and even recorded about 50 to 60 personal shout-outs."

fully sick rapperAs for the rest of his lyrical content (that's a lot of time to fill), he combined various rhymes scribed prior to the big day. Topics covered everything from the genetic makeup of Van Vuuren's plentiful beard to robot alien space dogs and their giant, white knight sidekicks.

Do note that Van Vuuren is still recovering from his TB. In fact, he's on five different antibiotics that cause all sorts of unpleasant side effects, including nausea, tiredness, anxiety and weakness. He even continues to make regular trips to the hospital for hearing and sight exams, plus blood tests to ensure his liver and kidneys are in good order. So, to rap for 9 hours and 20 minute straight is clearly a more noble (and impressive) feat than you might normally think.

Though tiring, Van Vuuren says the big day was a manageable one thanks to lots of preparation.

"The best thing was just allowing to open up my brain and let it dribble garbage for an entire day," he tells us. "Afterward I felt as if I had just been through a massive therapy session of some kind."

This behemoth-sized rap is just one other way the Fully Sick Rapper has raised awareness for TB. All told, he's raised roughly $20,000 for charity and has plans to continue sharing his story and raising money.

Right now, you can catch Van Vuuren's latest project, a Web series titled "Fully Sick and the Side Effect Project." The series, which also features his brother, was created in and around the actual hospital room during the last month Van Vuuren spent in quarantine. You can also follow him on Twitter or Facebook.
