During yesterday's game between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, Jets strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi stuck out his knee and tripped Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll as he ran down the sidelines on punt coverage. Carroll, who was shaken up by the trip but returned later in the game, was remarkably forgiving, saying it was "water off a duck's back." (He did also suggest any fine Alosi be forced to pay should go to him.)
As our friends at With Leather report, Alosi has apologized in a statement, which reads, "I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable ... I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows."
The question now is how hard the NFL and/or the Jets organization is going to come down on Alosi. What do you think his punishment should be?
| He should be fired | |
|---|---|
| Fined and banned from the sidelines for a period of time | |
| Fined and forced to run his hardest in blindfolds until Carroll chooses to trip him |

The NFL 'Death Penalty' needs to be initiated upon this sorry douchebag Sal Alosi.
Prior to Commissioner Goodell taking over, the existing rule allowed an offended player to find the accused coach's dog and kick it firmly in the nuts
-but as you can guess, PETA got all pissy about that practice.

Alosi is the poorest excuse for not only being a human or the example that is suppose to be set before the public. He is the last person that should be hired to coach (or even allowed into a football stadium anywhere in the world.)What kind of example is he setting for the young people who are interested in coaching or even participating in anykind of sports. Fineing him is no more than a slap on the wrist and a "Don't worry Alosi, we forgive you even if the rest of the nation thinks you are the scum of the earth

Colin Cowherd of ESPN Radio went on a rant today saying as how the suspension and fine were too hard on the guy, since he's "a good guy" and it was "stupid, but that's it". Bull. It was dangerous. These guys get concussions and worse from hits that look lighter and easier to take than this wipeout on the sideline. Besides, if a player takes a legitimate shot from someone who can be retaliated against, that's a completely different risk they accept. That's part of the job description. Watching out for some assbag taking an out-of-bounds cheap shot is not. And this "coach" is in charge of any segment of a team? It's immature, reckless, stupid, and cowardly. If the guy had suffered a broken neck it would be a different story, or god forbid it was Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. I HOPE the NFL gets locked out next year. What a bunch of overhyped, out-of-touch, self-interested babies (that goes for players, coaches, management and owners all alike).
