When Christopher Nolan
's bulky version of the Batmobile
was first unveiled, it was met with some skepticism -- taking an iconic vehicle that's remained relatively static during its on-screen history and radically redesigning it will have that effect on fanboys.
The end result was amazing to watch in 2005's "Batman Begins
" and 2008's "The Dark Knight
," but it was more than just eye candy for Britain's BAE Systems
The firm -- using Nolan's interpretation of the Batmobile as its muse -- has designed a new military vehicle
dubbed "Raider." Note the wheel placement and hefty armor. Of course, BAE's concept includes a giant gun. If only the Batmobile had that.
What's next for film-inspired weapons? Hopefully a real-life Iron Man suit
