When Christopher Nolan's bulky version of the Batmobile was first unveiled, it was met with some skepticism -- taking an iconic vehicle that's remained relatively static during its on-screen history and radically redesigning it will have that effect on fanboys. The end result was amazing to watch in 2005's "Batman Begins" and 2008's "The Dark Knight," but it was more than just eye candy for Britain's BAE Systems.
The firm -- using Nolan's interpretation of the Batmobile as its muse -- has designed a new military vehicle dubbed "Raider." Note the wheel placement and hefty armor. Of course, BAE's concept includes a giant gun. If only the Batmobile had that.
What's next for film-inspired weapons? Hopefully a real-life Iron Man suit. (Via Gizmodo)
