Women around the world respond best to compliments on their lips.

The dating website Badoo analyzed close to 200,000 online interactions between men and women -- which took place in 10 different languages -- to figure out what compliments men give women that engendered the most responses, as well as the responses that most often led to longer conversations.

While calling attention to a woman's lips proved to be the most universally successful tactic on both fronts, other compliments worked better in specific countries. For example, the best way to way to woo a woman from America, France, Italy or Brazil is to mention her clothing. Dutch and Portuguese ladies, on the other hand, prefer if you compliment their ears for some reason.

Sadly, compliments involving the phrase "fantastic cans" didn't rate highly in any nation.
