The show "Lost" reached its epic conclusion last year, but the mysterious six-number sequence of 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42, which popped up throughout the series, lives on among lottery players. In fact, 9,078 "Lost" fans selected those six digits for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing. When the numbers 4, 8, 15 and 42 hit, each of those "Lost" fans won 150 bucks for getting four out the six digits correct.
The jackpot for hitting all six numbers this week was $380 million, to be split between just two winners.
So, while some will say this means Hurley's numbers are lucky, another way to look at it is that if you play those particular digits you basically have no chance of coming away with a huge, life-changing pot, because so many other folks will also be playing the exact same numbers.

you may want to redo your math, $380M divided by 9000 is not quite $27M.
