Move over, birds-falling-from-the-sky and massive fish kills -- the latest scene of horror courtesy of the animal kingdom consists of 15,000 tons of animal fat floating in the Houston Ship Channel.

In this case, what happened isn't much of a mystery. The beef tallow, which is used for cooking and to make animal feed and soap, leaked into the water from a nearby storage facility. The Coast Guard used fish nets and pitchforks to pick out the fat, which congeals into large chunks (yummy!) when wet.
