Apr 11th 2009 7:49PM Unless you have been around it you'll never understand why Papelbon was weary. I didn't see the procession, but if the players were wearing spikes, he has a legitimate complaint. Spikes are slippery on cement. I know that wasn't the only reason. He could get sick if someone is infected and passes it on to him intentionally through skin contact or he could have been taken out by a pissed off Yankee fan who knew this procession was going to happen and thought it was a great chance to make a name for themself for Yankee nation. Many of you bash him, but if you think about it, would you rather him not walk amongst you or help you to win a pennant? Let it go! I wouldn't want to do that either unless it was at the NRA Convention or the Playboy mansion where they always protect and serve ;)

Mar 2nd 2008 11:00PM Amber, well stated! The daughter needs to be reprimanded also. The only problem with the whole situation is the student didn't give up her cell phone when told to do so. If she does, problem solved! I deal with 8th graders every day, she had a problem from the beginning. The bus driver is in charge of that bus, she can't let students off whenever and where ever,it is the law! Read up a little more on your legal sides, and you will lean toward the bus driver in this instance.It isn't always that way, but this time it is!

Mar 2nd 2008 10:32PM As an educator, I can see that this student has no respect for authority. The school bus is an extension of the classroom, and the same rules apply. Most schools ban cell phones and confiscate them when they are seen. As you could tell from the interview, mom isn't very educated herself. When confronted with the idea that both the bus driver and the student would be given citations her reponse was "I think that they are one sided." Common Mom, do you really want your child to be as ignorant as you? Step up and control your daughter or sign a "Youth At Risk" petition and cut your ties. She will cost you a lot of money in the long run, guaranteed! Legal costs are not cheap!

Jun 18th 2007 11:12PM Why wouldn't you want Kelly to switch over? She is talented and fearless. Carrie Underwood vs. Kelly Clarkson is over-hyped. Both have been successful at what they do best. . .SING! I haven't listened to country religously since the early to mid 90's. I might switch back because of her! I just hope that she doesn't go too emotional. I like the kick butt and take names approach!
