Aug 5th 2009 11:31AM I used a leash on my youngest son when he was little. He was a runner. You could take your eyes off him for literally a second or two and he would be gone. I would much rather deal with the rolling eyes of the holier than thou and end up having my son at the end of the day than to acquiesce to what others think is OK for my son.

Granted I never dragged him by the leash, but my heart goes out to this Mom. I've been that exasperated with my kids before... she didn't harm the kid, and I'm sure the kid was throwing a major tantrum.

Feb 4th 2009 7:18PM Americans can really be so completely ignorant sometimes. Africa has some beautiful places to visit. My brother recently went to Ethiopia and sent back pictures - it was lovely! He said he was well received by the locals and never felt threatened. If people would just open their eyes to new experiences and embrace them, the world would be a better place.

I didn't particularly care for her dress on Tuesday night, but it didn't detract from the intensity of the moment -- It was a beautiful night for a wonderful family. The girls are beautiful, Barack is going to be a great leader, and Michelle will find her own style. It's not fair to compare her to Jackie Kennedy - she isn't Jackie - she's Michelle!
