Apr 10th 2013 9:25AM the new American dream. Sad corporations have taken over America..
Jun 21st 2011 3:07PM She is what is wrong with this world. For real. Did she think that she could bully her way into getting her son in the little league? What kind of example is she setting? She's the same kind of parent that complains about their child's grades.
Jun 9th 2011 1:00PM While I think ths lady is corageous in coming out and revealing her feelings, I find it equally disturbing. We all dream of the 'perfect child' but what parenting shows us is that we get the child we're given and its our job to find the uniqueness in our child and love them precisely for that uniqueness. Of course when I was pregnant, I had an idealic vision of what my baby would be like. When he came out, he cried bloody murder and was the clingiest baby ever. Through this, I found a way to connect with him. He is now a vibrant 6 year old who was recently diagnosed with epilepsy but has also been identified as gifted. He is a quirky little fellow who wasnt receptive to mommy and me yoga but can accompany me to an art musuem like an adult. We cannot expect a 'certain' type of child and we need or rather THEY need us to nurture and love them as much as we humanly can.
Mar 20th 2011 8:32PM I hope they make a fund for this little girl. She's paying such a big price for saving her sister. Poor little girl.
Dec 14th 2010 9:23PM What an outdated practice! This dates back to when a woman had no legal status and was only the property of her father or of her husband. When I was married , I asked my husband if we could change BOTH of our names to include my maiden name and his name. He wasnt down for that so I kept my name and he kept his. We have two kids and both kids have my maiden name as their middle name and his last name.
Dec 14th 2010 9:20PM I couldnt have written this any better myself! I'll spare my child's wild excitement this year (and the upcoming years) b/c he'll never see one of these electronic games!
Oct 14th 2010 3:52AM Sociopathic behavior! Where is the compassion? Love? How can someone have so much contempt and hatred in their heart?
Im completely dumbfounded...
Oct 14th 2010 3:36AM To answer CDT baker:
Perhaps people dont have the time to cook every night but one can cook for the entire week during 1/2 day on Sunday. I agree that some processed foods are cheaper than more nutritious foods (one only has to look at the price of brown rice vs. white rice ). However you can still eat well on a budget. Rice and beans are inexpensive. Veggies that are in season are also within most people's means.
People have to learn what our grandparents knew about meal planning, cooking and eating well on a budget. Unfortunately between TV and our lifestyle, we became dependent on 'convenience' and have totally forgot how to do these things.
Oct 14th 2010 3:30AM Oh lets blame it on working moms again! I work full time. However my son eats nutritious food. I pack his lunch every day and we cook and eat dinner together every night. Right now he is only 6 but Im proud to say that he does eat 6 (or more) servings of organic fresh fruit and veggies per day and has NEVER tasted Mc Donalds (or any other fast food chain) or even soda. I also make sure he gets an hour of exercise daily (we bike together to his school and back). So this is not an issue of mom's working. Rather its an issue of conscious decision making as parents. We dont have a TV in the house, we dont keep processed junk food in the cupboards and we emphasize physical exercise. Its about having these values as a family.
Aug 20th 2010 4:09PM She has a nice shape for her age but this bathing suit does not suit her! This is really made for someone 20 years her junior and the color is just drab on her. She'd look fabulous in a black full piece swimsuit
