Also, who writes AOL's articles? Have they visited any of these countries? I've visited Russia a number of times, their visa process isn't that complex. Yes, they ask questions about your military service, any nuclear, biological or chemical training, but it's two frickin' questions. And I've had all that training in a long military career and it never prevented me from visiting, or brought any extra hassles. I was even visiting what until recently was a closed military city. The only time I was "hassled" was when I was asked about a big block of AA batteries when they x-rayed my luggage.
