Oct 11th 2009 5:18PM As with most jobs including Wal-Mart you always have to start at the bottom and work your way up. Wal-mart hires within as with most large companies. If you were looking to hire someone for your company, would you not rather hire a person who is already working part-time (no benefits) and who already knows the job or hire a person off the street to fill that full time position over looking the part timer altogether. Wal-mart may start you part-time, low pay, and no benefits but if you are willing to hang in there and work hard to show you can do the job then the advancements are there. Wal-mart is not alone in the practice, most other large companies do business the same way. One more thing ( this is in no way intended to be sarcastic just factual) My husband works for Wal- Mart and I am a stay -at home wife. Our income level (over 90,000.00 a year) is considered middle class. Our benefits are some of the most excellent benefits there are. As I type my husband is out on leave due to medical reasons and Wal-Mart will continue to pay our regular pay check for the next 90 days. This is not insurance paying us but Wal-Mart itself after which if he still is not able to return to work then the insurance we purchased thru Wal-Mart ( which we paid next to nothing for) will kick in. Wal-mart does take care of its employees. You just have to be willing to give back which means hard work. A concept which America 2009 knows very little about with the exception of the very few who still believe that hard work and dedication to your job what ever it may be brings home a descent paycheck.

Are You Addicted to the Internet? {Lemondrop}
May 1st 2009 12:31PM Sorry, but I perfer the internet over tv anyday. There's nothing on tv but murder, rape, our children missing, our soldiers dying, countries at war with others and their own. In general the world is falling apart before our eyes. At least on the internet you can control what you watch and read. Both my tv's stay on cartoons until the hubby gets home.
Hunter Dies in Opening Weekend Accident {Fanhouse Outdoors}
Oct 24th 2008 9:00AM It's very tragic when someone dies in a hunting accident and I think all hunters should have to take a refresher course before they renew their licenses if for nothing else but to go over the safety precautions. Maybe this would help saves lives. My problem with hunting is not the hunting itself. It's the use of hunting dogs. I live in the country but have to travel the highways to get back into town and it's really sad to see so many hunting dogs dead on the side of the road. The dogs are used to run the deer back to the hunter and that's really not fair. I've been told by hunters themselves that some actually starve the dogs before the hunt so they will hunt better. One of my ex-husbands friends told me also that if a particular dog doesn't do well that day they just shoot it in the head and leave it in the woods.. I have had several dogs wonder up to my house long after season very thin and sick. You can actually see their ribs and they eat like they've never ate before. I usually nurse them back to health even at the expense of a vet visit and then I call the number on the collar to return the dog to it's rightful owner and believe this or not most owners won't even come pick up the dog and that's very sad so we keep the dogs and find good homes for them. One hunter I called asked me to take the dog to the local shelter and he would pick it up there. When I called back a week later to see if the dog had been picked up, the officer told me that the owner had come down but that the charge for the dog to stay there was $15 for the food and the owner refused to pay and turned over his rights to the shelter, so I went back down and adopted the dog to keep him from being euthanized. Ther are many other stories about hunting dogs that I could write about but you get the idea. I just wish that hunters had to take a refresher course each year and that legislation would pass a law to make hunting with dogs illegal.

Cheerios are far more than just a tasty breakfast food {DIY Life}
Aug 22nd 2007 2:18PM Take a shallow baking pan and melt one or two tablespoons of butter, then pour into pan. Place a flat layer of cherrio's in the pan and sprinkle lightly with salt (not too much). Then bake in the oven (about 350-375) until golden brown. Makes a great snack!
