Make up your mind. In 8 AB's he's been beaten by tough pitching. Don't be so quick to label him either way, whether you need a story with a sensational headline or not. It just sounds retarded.

Joe Buck and Tim McCarver made it a point to mention that the umpires have all officiated at least 1 World Series. That's great. I watched my wife give birth once. I'm now a certified ob/gyn. The umpiring sucks. They get paid to do one thing...when I do my job as half-assed, I get fired. Absolutely ridiculous.

My comments regarding your mistakes? Much ado about nothing...much like this story. The one thing that the ALDS playoffs have given me, if nothing else, is the lack of drama regarding Joba (bullpen? starting? what's his favorite food? what's his birthweight?). I'm also glad the Rangers aren't involved in the playoffs, so I don't have to read the endlessly heavy handed reaction to how brave Josh Hamilton is. PLEASE report on stories that aren't repeated ad nauseam.

Either way, the Met organization never seems to do anything right. Beltran should sit out the string, no matter what's he being paid, so he doesn't inevitably re-injure himself, being that he's a Mets starter, thereby completing that self-fulfilling prophecy.
The most mystifying thing to me, however, is the relatively recent outpouring of entitlement Met fans have displayed in the past few years. When did Met fans earn the right to think that ANY year would be their year? Why do they honestly grow perturbed or dismayed when the Mets collapse? They never win anything, so why the disappointment?
