Best Christmas Movies (5-1) {Moviefone Blog}
Dec 24th 2010 8:36PM And a big "Bah, Humbug!" for rating the 1951 version of "A Christmas Carol" with Alistair Sim as Scrooge, as only #11. Clearly, this one should have easily been in the top five.
It's unfortunate it's never on TV any more. (But copies are still available for rent at video rental stores, and copies are also often available on eBay.)

Nov 20th 2010 5:13AM Congrats, councilman. Your boneheadedness just made those kids life long Republicans.
Now we know why the symbol of the Democrat party is a jackass.

Nov 12th 2010 7:02PM Dan Rather is not exactly the epitome of ethical reporting. He faked something about Bush's National Guard service, and put in on the air a couple of weeks prior to the 2004 election, and he accepted an invitation to speak befor a Democrat group. Not exactly a paragon of unbiased journalism.
And you mention Walter Cronkite, who also let his political leanings on the air, when he said, in 1968, that the Vietnam war was "lost," during or immediately following the NVA's and VC's Tet Offensive, and was largely responsible for turning Americans against the Vietnam War. The truth of the matter, is that we never lost a single battle, but lost the war at home, due in no small part, to Walter Cronkite.
I'm sorry, but you chose a couple of bad examples for ethics in journalism.

Nov 12th 2010 6:50PM I was a broadcaster with Armed Forces Radio. We used to "prank" new guys by planting a story in their radio and TV newscasts, which involved a man that called a TV station in British Columbia, and claimed he could change the size, shape, and color of the Northern Lights, by standing in his back yard at midnight, and flapping a bed sheet at them." The expressed purpose, was to get them to "break" on the air.
Our other prank, reserved for TV, was to give the new guy a stand up report, done from a podium, rather than the news set. What he did not know, was that we had brought one of the local "working girls" on base, and smuggled her in to the podium. About a minute and a half into the cast, the girl would push open the podium doors, unbuckle his belt, and jerk his pants down around his ankles.
The camera never saw it. It had a tight close up of his head and shoulders. Other military personnel watching the cast always wondered anad asked about why the guy doing the report looked like he was sucking on a big lemon.
Christian Leader Calls for Glenn Beck Boycott Over 'Social Justice' Comments {Politics Daily}
Mar 12th 2010 3:52PM Isn't this the same Rev. Jim Wallis who serves as a "spiritual advisor" to Obama? I didn't see that mentioned anywhere.

Nov 13th 2009 9:45PM About the only thing on any of NBC's networks worth watching.
They had a winner in JAG, but dumped it after two years. It ran for another eight on CBS, and spawned NCIS, which, in turn, spawned NCIS: Los Angeles.
Sean Hannity Apologizes to Jon Stewart {Inside TV Blog}
Nov 13th 2009 4:01PM It would be nice if all the messages were arranged in chronological order, from the newest, to the oldest. They jump around from 2:00 p.m. at the end of one page, to 9:00 a.m. at the beginmniong of the next.
It would also be nice, if, when a notice that a reply to a message is sent, it would take you right to the original message, with the replies below it, rather than to the "Inside TV" page, where it was damn near impossible to find this story, and the associated comments.
But that would make it easy (easier) to navigate the site, and we can't have anything that would make life easier, can we?

Nov 13th 2009 2:48PM How often do liberal hosts (Chris Matthews; Keith Olbermann; Randi Rhodes, etc.) apologize when they make on air mistakes?
