Dec 8th 2009 7:59PM I ran into the same thing when I was selling an item on CL.... The guy said he wanted the item... I said fine... he said he would send a money order... I told him fine, not a problem....I gave him the address ... now before all of you jump all over me for doing this... the address I gave him was our local police dept's. address. I called ahead to let them know this money order was coming. I told the guy to mark "Lego's" (the item I was selling) on the bottom corner of the envelope. This guy thought he 'hooked' a winner... he sent 3 money orders, for a grand total of $2700..... all I was asking was $200.... To make a long story short, I told him I had trouble with "Western Union"... and that I went ahead cashed out the money orders at my bank and I sent him cash..... He about blew a gasket... asked if I could get the letter back after I mailed it....LOL best laugh I had in a long time.
