Oct 28th 2010 7:09PM i guess it is most likely a hearing aid. and the man in front is with her walking in step. in those days, even long married couples, the woman walked behind the man. attending a film premeire was most likely reserved for the wealthy or altleast well to do, certainly able to afford a hearing aid. she appears to be adjusting the device, but a sulent movie isn't really silent, as there was often live music from an organist, and the audience laughter, and "sound effects"

logically, there would be a "guest list" of invited viewers, and possibly historical photos of attendees,... remember this was the roaring twenties, after pohibition, and i am certain there were some parties, or gatherings where more photos may exist for possible comparison. if not, there may be more pictures of the event itself.
