Nov 18th 2009 5:27PM I totally agree. Lifelong senators? This was not something that the founding fathers envisioned. Congress was supposed to be populated with people from all walks of life--bringing different perspectives and knowledge--who served for a brief time and then went back home to give others a chance to serve. Change we can believe in won't arrive until there is a referendum on term limits. What we want is a demographic mix that includes all socio-economic groups and all age groups (up to 70).

Aug 10th 2009 7:17PM Discretion is the key. Feed the baby before you leave the house and have a plan for where you will stop for the next feeding. Or use a breast pump and prepare a bottle. This is what breastfeeding working moms do. Then your baby can eat as necessary.

I agree with this statement. Is Mr. DeSantis writing because he wants to publicly defend/declare his principles (integrity hardworking, etc.) in anticipation of his next career move? If he can afford to donate his bonus to some worthy cause, then he
could have walked away from AIG a lot sooner -- based on moral standards for doing business.

Obama doesn't have to know everything to be president; he has to know how to pick and choose his advisers,his budget line items,his buddies here and abroad, and his battles. This election will not be about politics. This election, like it or not, will be about whether America is mature enough to elect a African American as president. Underneath a lot of the middle age, middle class political rhetoric is ingrained racial discrimination. Obama is smart and we should be too.
