Are Red Rover, Kick Ball and Freeze Tag Risky Summer Camp Business? {ParentDish}

Apr 19th 2011 10:19PM Another shining example of the government (which doesn't operate with any measure of common sense) butting in where it shouldn't. And how 'bout this one: I went to the pharmacy (of a commonly known discount store) several days ago to acquire a "list" of the medicines that were dispensed over 2010 to my child (who is under 10 years old). Mind you, they had no problems taking the money I had to pay out of pocket (a substantial amount) each month last year, but when I asked for this list, they said they couldn't give it to me because of HEPA laws, UNLESS my son was standing there in front of them. I was worried I'd broken my jaw when it hit the floor. I told them: "He's a MINOR. I'm his parent and I sign his HEPA privacy forms when I take him to a doctor. I KNOW his health conditions. Can we use some common sense here?" They still refused. Today, I switched his Rx's to another pharmacy that evidently has more common sense.... Our country is in a heap of trouble folks.

Sarah Lane: Close-Ups of Natalie Portman's Face Don't Count as Dancing {PopEater}

Apr 15th 2011 1:13PM First, no one is lying if they said 80% of the "dance shots" were Natalie Portman since that is NOT the same as saying that Natalie Portman did 80% of the dancing. Second, if this gal isn't looking for recognition or fame for her part in the movie, then why is she doing television interviews? I think that the intelligent people out there can very well figure out that Ms. Portman is not a ballet dancer by training and that obviously a dance double was required. For those too stupid to realize that, why even worry about them?

'Signs of Life': How Newlywed Natalie Taylor Became a Widow -- and a Single Mom -- by 25 {MyDaily}

Apr 12th 2011 12:22PM @ cantuii and others making similar comments:
So going along with your train of thought: No one should ever go swimming because they could drown. No one should ever drive their car again because they might get smacked by a Mac truck. No one should ever take a hike in a National Park because they might get attacked, mauled, and killed by a bear. No one should fly in an airplane because it might crash, or take a cruise because the ship might sink. Really now, why the heck live at all with so many "mights"? Please, go hide under your desks in a bunker somewhere, where you feel you are the "safest" and can keep judging the rest of us who want to LIVE and enjoy what life we have, whether it's meant that we live to a ripe old age or die young in a tragic ACCIDENT .... Carpe diem.

'Signs of Life': How Newlywed Natalie Taylor Became a Widow -- and a Single Mom -- by 25 {MyDaily}

Apr 12th 2011 12:08PM @ racetrked: Talk about missing the forest for the trees! First, I don't think ANYONE is boasting about "how important" this woman/widow/mother/author is. She simply wrote a book about her experience, and in doing so, it allowed her to work through her grief and go through the healing process. Secondly, if this helps OTHER young (or older) widows go through a similar healing process, how can that be wrong?

Zsa Zsa Gabor Rushed Back to the Hospital {PopEater}

Mar 2nd 2011 9:02PM From the article: "...The Hungarian-American socialite and actress has been ailing since summer 2010. Her right leg was amputated in January because of gangrene, and she was hospitalized last month for high fever, fluid in her lungs and an infection.

After suffering a bone-breaking fall on July 18, Gabor was hospitalized and eventually had a hip replacement....."

Her heart has to be failing. It's not strong enough to adequately pump her blood, so she's losing blood supply to her extremities, hence fluid in her lungs, and the loss of blood to her legs resulting in them basically dying/rotting on her. It's a matter of time before the infection from the gangrene spreads via her blood to other vital organs, including the lungs. Then that will probably be the end of her. It's all a matter of time, but then again, it is that for all of us.
