Since September 11th, there has been escalated violence against Muslims and Middle Easterners in general. The paragraph to which you're referring explains that this is unfair and he will stand by the Muslims if these unjust acts become uncontrollable.

I was wondering if he would accept the offer, given that it wouldn't really fit in with his Green policies. But good for you, Obama. Looks like you're not an opportunistic flip-flopper like some people ignorantly believe. Who'd have known?
