Jul 27th 2010 12:37AM Excuse me? You are offended by implied swearing? Please do tell us when you decide to grow up and become a rational adult. People swear or say substitute words when they get angry. It is often a reflex action.
I'll tell you what, Lacie, if you can prove to us that you are without sin, then you can cast the first stone. If not, I suggest that you develop a thicker skin and a sense of humour. WWJD? He'd tell you to put down your rocks and chill out.
'69 GTO controlled by an iPod touch {TUAW.com}
Mar 26th 2010 12:07AM iTouch, iTouch, iTouch, iTouch.
Did that upset you? :)
I used to have an iPod Touch (now have an iPhone 3GS) but I never let it bother me too much when people called it an iTouch.
Palm Pre goes on sale to a select, drenched few {Engadget}
Jun 6th 2009 2:33PM At this rate, they should sell a few thousand before Palm goes bankrupt.
Toshiba's v2.0 firmware for third-gen HD DVD players causing jaggies? {Engadget HD}
Mar 14th 2008 10:07PM @TT, your name really should be Liar Liar.
Enough with your fanboyish defence of a flawed firmware update.
European Blu-ray Chairman calls HD DVD Group's actions "unbelievable" {Engadget HD}
Nov 13th 2007 3:43PM You guys forgot to include what he was upset about. He was upset that the HD DVD promotional group is including PS3's when calculating average attach rate (a meaningless statistic) but not including them when stating overall hardware sales. Obviously the HD DVD group would not include PS3 numbers in that case because they would be outnumbered by millions of PS3 unit.
Pioneer, Mitsubishi develop LTH BD-R discs {Engadget}
Sep 18th 2007 2:11PM Stop spreading half truths. BD-R BDAV (no menu) should play back fine in all but one player and BD-R BDMV (with menus) should playback in all but two players and one of the players has it disabled in firmware as an anti-piracy measure.
It is not known if the playback problem with the one standalone is caused by incompatibility with the recordable media or if it is caused by problems with the authoring software output not meeting the spec.
There were similar problems with DVD-R/RW in the early days too and even to this day, some home movies on DVD-R will not playback properly on some DVD players.
You should be happy to know that the PS3 should playback most burned BD-Rs.

Aug 17th 2007 2:10PM #11 Aren't you being a bit presumptuous? Not everyone works like you and you seem to be from a windows background. You mentioned iPhoto which has a full-screen editing mode while this is apparently not a fullscreen app and you also mentioned Photoshop with the docking of controls. Controls docking to the sides is a very "windows" concept and Photoshop for windows is an MDI style interface. Even though the the mac version is not MDI, the docking behavior of palettes near the screen tend to mimic the window version as if it ws treating the current screen as the root window in the MDI scheme.
I prefer having free floating toolbars to docking ones. If you find then getting in the way, you can always move them off the editing window or onto another screen so I don't see the problem here.
Run Linux apps on Windows or OS X with Lina {Download Squad}
May 28th 2007 11:27PM Why did they use nano as an example when it already comes with OS X as a native console binary?
Blu-ray Disc: One million served {Engadget}
Apr 23rd 2007 7:37PM I keep on hearing about low attach rates of people buying Blu-ray movies for their PS3 but these people fail to consider two points:
1. Some of those PS3 owners may have bought a standalone blu-ray player.
2. The PS3 has only recently launched in Europe.
I bought my PS3 couple weeks ago and I have already bought 12 Blu-ray movies including Casino Royal and 0 games for it.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Leo Laporte wants to rebrand podcasts as 'netcasts' - I agree {TUAW.com}
Oct 7th 2006 7:58PM Trademarks prevent others from using the term legally. It is a really stupid idea. Enough with the FUD. Apple was trying to prevent someone else from trademarking "Podcast Ready" as it would prevent others from using that term legally. Apple did however, go after MyPodder. These are completely different issues.
Leo Laporte is definitely a twit if he thinks trademarking netcast will be a positive thing. From a legal standpoint, obtaining a trademark for netcast would mean that only the owners of the trademark could use it without limitation.
