Oct 6th 2010 5:51PM I have 21 pets, am retired and frankly have money to spare. I have a twenty stall horse barn with four pot belly pigs who live the life of luxury, they have a huge outdoor area with paddly pools which are cleaned daily, play things, fresh coastal hay and plenty of food ( mini pot belly pig food ) and fresh vegetables. They eat no table scraps. They graze the pasture while I stand with them every day.

I have 6 mini and pygmy goats, all rescued from bad situations, as were the pigs.
They have a lovely 4 stall barn with a play gym and a 60 foot by 60 ft. grassy play area. They eat Noble goat feed and some veggies. Fresh water daily, and I groom them often.

I have four dogs, one I actually bought. The rest are drop ins....showed up and never left. All are micro chipped, current on vaccinations and wormed. They are collared and only run free when I am out with them, which is often. I have built a large kennel with two huge fenced in areas, that connect, and a huge shed with doggie beds and toys. This is if I go out for errands or am gone for the day.

I have four birds. One pionus parrot, one cockatiel, one love bird and one budgie. All adopted. They have wonderful cages and fresh water daily. They are all side by side by a huge window overlooking our pastures and drive so they let us know when anyone arrives.

I have a rat, yep.....she has a lovely $100.00 cage and lots of fresh food, some pellet also. She is from a child who couldn't take care of her properly...but I went out and bought the cage.

I have two cats. One from the animal shelter, and the other just showed up one day. Cats are good, keep the mice at bay and follow me to the barn to let the mice there know to stay out of the pig feed. The cats are indoors most of the time. They just like to follow me to the barns each day as part of their ritual.

Now, that's 21 pets. Many would say I was a hoarder. But every one of mine has the best care. My dogs even get groomed and bathed often. All on heartworm medication too.

And when I die my daughter, who loves animals and just adopted a totally deaf dog who understands sign language, will inherit the pets, along with a large subsidy to take care of them.

Some of us are just seriously in love with animals and have that kind of heart, it aches at the cruelty they endure at the hands of people sometimes.

The good thing is that I have never heard of these radio guys before, and therefore have nothing to do with having to listen to that garbage. Family Moves to Keep Pet Pig {Pawnation OLD}

Nov 17th 2009 9:18AM I rescue pot belly pigs, people are jerks after having them for a year or so and realizing they are not what they thought. They are way smart, but that means they make up their minds and decide whether they wish to bond with you or not. Even the little piggies grown to be 100 plus pounds at about two years old. I have been rescuing these lovely pets for 18 years now and give them a great home on lots of land with great facilities to house them. They do NOT eat table scraps but a proper diet of pot belly feed for active adults. Please do not think about getting one that is bred for sale and for heavens sake, research first!
