But this is your home town and you will not be over-run in your town maybe you will just impose a few rules to keep the true tourists happy and yourself as well.

funny because you should know by now that if you do not make enough tips to cover that your EMPLOYER is responsible to make up the difference. it is the law no matter where you live. check it out. bacause I too have worked for $3.16 an hour overnights at a pancake house where most of my customers where drunk coming out of the bar and never saved more than the mere change after they were done paying the bill to tip.

Sep 8th 2009 9:14AM tipping is optional as it always should be---mandatory tipping is related to high prices and sometimes bad service/food.---otherwise it isnt tipping.-I wont tip 20% for a 10 dollar hot dog no matter how it tastes.

I have been A server where I made $3.16 an hour and I have been a server where I made min. wage. I hope everybody knows as well as I do that min. wage servers earn a very tidy wage by the end of the day. whether they have to share or not with the rest of the staff. Now i am talking not of the small town diner but where most people think of when they go out. applebees,tgif,denny's,ect. there is NO reason why anybody should feel guilty for leaving a $5 tip for two diners.
Do the math. I have three tables during my 8 hr shift lets say every person is there for an hour that is 24 tables.
now A $5 tip is left at each table and WALLA!!!
yous server now probably makes WAY more per hour than you do! Over $20 an hour. But of course they do not claim it all each day on thier payroll.
I was told when I first started to not claim it all, I later found out why! when i said bull to that and did anyway because i did not want to be in trouble if I got caught. the resteraunt & us servers got audited because only 2 servers out of 23 claimed truthfully. they ended up owing ALOT of taxes. Tax evasion IS against the law!! Hmmm no way!!

Jan 27th 2008 3:01PM This story was not about the problems in the usa where your freedom and rights are better protected This story is in Mexico City where murder is more likely the solution to many problems and the police there are powerless to protect the ones who need it the most. So many of the women are VERY gratefull for a bus that they can ride in peace to work or whatever.
