Apr 8th 2010 12:21PM Tiger Woods is an athlete. Period. If people would simply teach their children to revere Civic and Government leaders,Teachers, Scientists, and others who make a difference in their lives they wouldn't be so upsewt about this.

The fact that he is a philanderer does NOT negate his great ability as an athlete. His ability as an athlete does NOT somehow obligate him to be an angel. Give him a break and review your own values.

I am not White, do not wear dreadlocks or participate in Drum Circles on a regular basis, but as a teacher I can tell you that the discipline of a drum circle is something that our children could benefit from.

The writer of this article comes across as a narrow minded jerk. I hope he doesn't really hold these bigoted views.

Dec 25th 2009 1:16PM Jefferson, the author of our constitution was called a "Howling Athiest" by political opponents. After his death it was found that he had edited his bible, marking through all references to Jesus being the son of God or anything but a normal man.

And by the way, if you examine Jesus' teachings he was clearly a Liberal. (He fed the poor, embraced the homeless and people from different sects of Judism, and he was AN ABSOLUTE PACIFIST.)

How can you hypocrites even look yourselves in the mirror and call yourself "Christian?"

I pray that the One God who is called by many names forgives you. Peace on Earth, good will to all. Seasons Greetins to all. (And that includes Christmas.)

And the Pilgrims themselves fled England to escape the persecution of a differnt Christian sect.

Can't you conservatives see that your angry mean spirited comments only serve to verify the negative opinions of those of us who find your religion offensive?

You have taken one of the worlds greatest faiths and turned it ugly with your mean spirited hypocricy. Jesus would never have denied the poor health care or sent cruise missiles to destroy cities as you right wingers advocate.

If there is a Devil he must be delighted at some of your mean spirited comments. I hope God forgives you.

Dec 25th 2009 12:54PM First: The author of our constitution, Thomas Jefferson was NOT A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN. In fact his poloitical enemies referred to him as a "Howling Athiest." During his run for the presidency his opponent (Adams)campaigned on the platform "Keep America a Godly nation." Jefferson also edited his bible, marking out all references to the divinity of Jesus.

John and Quincy Adams were both Unitarian, rather than Trinitarian Christians. Ben Franklin was a Quaker.

So please remember that these Founding Fathers who fought for religious freedom were not the same sort of right wing conservative bullies who want to cram their perverted brand of the religion down everyone else's throats.

We are not a Christian nation even though Christians compose the majority. Religious freedom is one of the cornerstones of this nation.

And last, please remember that the Pilgrims themselves left England fleeing from other Christians who disapproved of their brand of Christianity.

Dec 24th 2009 10:39AM Monday night a friend of mine broke her leg in two places. At the emergency room she continued to scream two sentences: "It Hurts!" and "I don't have health insurance!"

It is a shame that the supposedly greatest nation in the world has a climate where people in intense pain can only think of the fact that they cannot pay. And conservatives wonder why they have been branded mean and heartless.

Sep 30th 2009 1:50PM Where DO you get this stuff??? (Oh yeah, Fox News.) PLEASE do some basic fact checking. Obama attended a Muslim run school, but it was NOT radical Islamist. There were students of many faiths in attendance, just as in America many students attend Catholic Schools and "Christian Academies" for the education, not the iedology.
