Jan 12th 2011 1:21PM I'm glad they're not expanding the playoffs. There are too many teams in the playoffs as it is, and the season is too long. I don't want to see MLB turn into the NBA, where a .500 record is good enough to get you into a playoff season that lasts forever and the regular season (which also drags on way too long)is meaningless.

Jan 5th 2011 3:05PM Blyleven made it more on longevity than anything else... but if he gets in the HOF, why not someone like Tommy John? Alomar was a great player in his prime, but I wonder if his prime was lengthy enough. He was also a disruptive influence on some of the teams he played for, especially the Orioles. I don't really think either of them deserve it.

1. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's superior. Does McDonald's have the best food in the world? Is Taylor Swift the best singer?
2. The true sports fans I know are very excited about this Series, and one of the reasons is because of the teams.
3. The media have a pro-NFL, anti-MLB bias, because of the way the NFL sucks up to them. When new teams make the NFL playoffs, it's proof of how "balanced" the league is, but if the Yankees don't make the Series every year, the media are disappointed.
