Misleading Ads from the Golden Age of Video Games {Asylum}
Jun 24th 2008 4:06AM Man, I can't believe this! Don't you realize Mr. Rundle that back
then they didn't have the technology we have today? This article makes you look ignorant in ways words can hardly describe. The games looked like crap because they were made with primitive technology. What you're doing is like calling the person who invented the wheel an idiot because today reinventing it TODAY is a total waste of time. Inventing the wheel may not be something you want to do today, but
back then it was a revolutionary creation.
Then on top of that, you're not funny. I was actually happy before I started reading this, but I had to stop reading it because it was so lame that if I read all 50 entries I'd probably be mad by the end. You obviously didn't do ANY of your homework on this, and are about as far from funny as the east is from the west. I don't know how you managed to take a subject as cool as video games + humor and manage to come up with something this bad, where every single person on here actually left a comment something like this, but somehow you did it. Good thing I'm not your boss, because I'd have to have a word with you after you wrote something this ignorant.
And the ads weren't even misleading! People knew exactly what they were buying, and didn't expect the games to be anything more than "basically yet another black screen with some meaningless colored pixels moving around". The most misleading thing in this article is it's title.

Gunman Opens Fire at Illinois College {News Bloggers}
Feb 15th 2008 10:48AM I think we really need to focus on the psychological aspects of this problem. If you focus on the symtoms of a diesese, all you're doing is covering it up. To fix a problem once and for all you have to try to find the root of it.
I believe that all the people talking about laws have the purest intentions but they are all dead wrong. You can have gun control laws that are so tight no one in the country is allowed to have a gun at all and people would still smuggle them in illegally and criminals would still get guns. And some people say we need to have harsher punishment for people who commit heinous crimes so they will think twice about committing those crimes. I believe those people's thoughts are pure, but thier logic has a flaw.
There is something that I know about criminals that very few adults in this country seem to know: Most criminals are not the types to think before they act. If they did actually think before they did things they wouldn't be criminals. So either they are insane, like these shooters, so they CAN'T think (these people, in my opinion, need to be locked up all the time, even if they haven't committed any crimes yet), or they are completely sane but never think, or they are sane and do think and they think they will never be caught. So it won't matter what the law is. Think about it: with all the laws that have been written and punishments dished out over the whole earth and it's human history, of you could actually stop crime through punishment and enforcement alone, don't you think humans would have rid the world of crime LONG ago?
Laws are not the answer. I believe these things and other really bad things happen because too many people don't have the network of family and friends that people always had before, and that those problems lead to other problems which make the first ones worse. People who do these things are usually both very sick and lonely. Really sick people should never be left all alone! But in today's America, people are so focused on work and such that they never notice thier family members are so sick until it's too late. Or they refuse to believe it.
I believe that all people who do these kinds of things exhibit warning signs before they do, but we don't pay attention to the sick, angry, lonely, messed up people until they shoot someone. I'm not talking about just looking at thier outward appearence, either, because no one looks that sick on the outside. People need people to understand them more on the inside, and to help them BEFORE they go over the edge and do something awful. Just like folks say "Guns don't kill people. People do." Well, laws don't do what I just mentioned. People do.
