And lots of women love flying high. With a float plane, you can have fun while floating around. So no real contest on the pick.

Jun 4th 2006 3:20AM Diesel vehicles do get better milage per mile than gas operated ones. Having had 3 vehicles in the past with diesel motors, I have a feel for the milage factor. But no one has taken the time to mention the extra cost for normal operations, such as fuel filters that have to be changed much more often than in a gas motor, or oil changes that should be done every 3,000 miles, or the injectors that have to be replaced because of dirty fuel. Or the fact that in colder climates, you have to leave the vehicles plugged in to regular house current in order to keep the oil in the crankcase warmed up so you can crank the vehicle up in the mornings. The list goes on. Add those factors in, and gas motors are actually cheaper in the long run. With the proper rearend gears (4.10 vs 3.73 or lower), a gas motor can pull almost as much as a diesel. Also, no one has mentioned the fact that a diesel motor will cost more $5,300 for a Ford truck, $5,555 for a Dodge truck and $6,030.00 for a General Motors truck over a gas motor. At the present time, none of the "Big 3" US made SUV's offers the diesel option. With the cost extra cost for the motor, quicker oil and fuel filter changes, you would have to put many more miles on the highway in order to justify the extra cost of a diesel vs a gas motor. The big advantage to a diesel over a gas motor, is that it will outlast a gas one. But then, who keeps a vehicle for 10 years any more.
