Who served without complaining, without challenging lawful orders, who did their job whether they chose it, liked it or not, and who refused to speak badly of their service no matter how long ago it was. ok, the food was not the best but you can't say it was overpriced.

PARET'S ARMS WERE " DOWN " PEOPLE- NO WHERE NEAR BEING ABLE TO DEFEND HIMSELF. I KEPT SAYING, WHEN IS THE REF GOING TO STOP IT? FINALLY, HE DID AND PARET WAS TANGLED UP IN THE ROPES AND HIS HEAD WAS DOWN, HANGING LIMP LIKE A BUNCH OF APPLES ON A STRING. THAT'S THE WAY IT WAS.

May 23rd 2008 3:38PM I don't things have changed much. Forty years ago I was a quarterback in High School and I knew the focus was on me on and off the field as well as the off season. I had to maintain my role as a role model for the freshmen and sophmores as well as the juniors. I had to be careful with the women also, especially Mary Lou Snickleman- you know the type I am talking about. I married and had twins shortly after High School and my GPA was only 2.5 so I couldn't get a scholarship to college and I had a few problems with the police too.
The twins are grown and gone now, unfortunately both are in prison but you have to take life as it comes at you. I would like to get a coaching job someday.

Apr 30th 2008 2:07PM I would think that History will put Mr Bonds on the same team with Ty Cobb. I don't think the mentality of sportswriters will deviate enough to allow BB into the HOF. The die is cast on that one. You can't put BB in the same HOF that harbors the Mantles, Gehrigs, Dimaggio and so many others.
Too bad they did away with the 'old timers' game- Bonds, Mcguire, Canseco & Clemens and the myriad of other steroid offenders would make a heck of a team. But... BB can still save himself, I think. Repentance is the key, if he can give the baseball world reason to believe he is repentant it could very well get him into baseball heaven. Confess and repent with humility. Even Torquemada gave slack to those who repented.
