Feb 29th 2008 6:32PM I was reading "The Weirdest Laws in the Bible-Go ahead Have a Locust. From your comment I see that you have not been expose to wild-life. I was born in the country in a part of Central America in Costa Rica my father was a farmer and he use to bring home locust, there are insect that are called locust (pachytylus migratorios) also there is the bean from the carob tree that is called the locust-bean (robinia pseudacacia)it is a small pod more or less like olive green not too deep not too light the color when you open the pod it is powery inside and it has a sweetish flavor, so I believe that pod is what the Bible is refering to and not the insect.
