Denny's Maple Bacon Sundae Reviewed {Slashfood}
Apr 5th 2011 5:32PM I feel that waitress's pain. I did my time in the restaurant business and you always have to suggest something to the customer, regardless of how bad it is. I'll never forget trying to hawk Pizza Butt's "Big New Yorker", and nearly laughing out loud when a customer said "Not that! That's NASTY!"
Tourists Cage-Dive with Crocodiles in Australia {AOL Travel News}
Mar 19th 2011 9:43AM Scary thing is, I'd probably do it. I have a history of doing crazy things: spelunking, snorkeling with sharks, white-water rafting, climbing a fire escape without touching the stairs...
Nacho Cheese Leads to Disney Suit {AOL Travel News}
Feb 12th 2011 8:05PM I read a book called "Mouse Tales: Behind the Ears at Disneyland", and an entire chapter was dedicated to lawsuits--some of which made this one look plausible. Disneyland had a policy of fighting every lawsuit in court for years, because they believed that fighting forty lawsuits was the only way to keep it from becoming forty thousand lawsuits.
Their lawyer--sadly, I've blanked his name--is dead now, but sounded like he would have been an interesting guy. He was brilliant. He dealt with some strange cases, but had amazing strategies to fight.
For example, during a lawsuit that Winnie the Pooh of assaulting a child, he brought the actor into court--in his Winnie the Pooh costume! In addition to influencing the jury to think of the actor as--well, the silly old bear, he proved the claim was false because Pooh's arms a) couldn't move, and b) were too low to the ground to cause the injuries claimed.
Oh, to have been a fly on the wall for THAT case!
I don't know if that's still their policy, and they probably wouldn't tell me if I asked--but I agree with the reasoning. This could be because I lost my dream job due to a frivilous lawsuit--the employer rcould either pay me or throw money at the suit to make it go away.

Elderly New York Couple Kicked Off Ship After Fight {AOL Travel News}
Oct 6th 2010 10:28AM There's too many missing links here to make a good judgment, and if an anti-Semetic comment was made, the guy probably deserved a good verbal lashing.
However, if you read between the lines of what Sher told the reporter--"where only passengers in the top accommodations on the ocean liner dine", "cruised on the Queen Mary 2 several times, often in the ship's top suite", it sounds like she has a bit of an ego problem.
While I have a problem believing she was "physically abusive", I have no problem believing she "engaged in multiple incidences of disrespectful and disruptive behavior towards crew members and other guests."
Octomom Yard Sale: Nadya Suleman Sells Used Bras, Bikinis {Stylelist}
Sep 27th 2010 9:36PM People like her give people like me a bad name. People don't always know the difference between welfare and disability (which I'm on). No one on their right mind would want on live on the latter, but because of her, people think there's just a gravy train equally rewarding poor decisions and poor health. People don't understand that poor decisions lie with the person, while poor health can have a number of causes.
That said, never give anyone on public aid cash. Since life is so unpredictable for a person on public aid, they're likely to make impulse purchases--especially of the "escapism" variety (vodka, for example).
The best way to help would be for volunteers to babysit the brood while she goes out and works.

Paris Hilton Detained in Japan Over Recent Drug Bust, Sent Back to U.S. {PopEater}
Sep 22nd 2010 4:13PM Hmm, maybe we need to put the Japanese in charge of our criminal justice system--they're certainly not taking her crap!

Paris Hilton Will Face Felony Drug Charges {PopEater}
Sep 3rd 2010 11:35PM She's either as dumb as she acts, or she thinks we're as dumb as she is.
I'm not too sure I want to ponder which scenario is the case.
