Oct 31st 2010 3:11PM This is a good time in the history of civilization for this issue to come up.

Thirty or so years ago, many, many people were offended by the sight of an inter-racial couple. But our higher selves got ahold of us; we got used to it and learned to see it as a civil right.

Presently, many, many people oppose gay rights because they dislike the thought of having to see a gay couple cuddle in public. Many, many people are struggling with their higher selves to work this one out. The others see it as a battlefield, but the change is inevitable, as it is a civil right as well.

The author at Marie Claire has pointed out a new frontier: bad fattitudes toward large people. The same principle applies though. We must aspire to see this as a civil right, and accustom ourselves to the presence of large people kissing.

Work on it.
