"The meat industry spends hundreds of millions of dollars lying to the public about their product. But no amount of false propaganda can sanitize meat. The facts are absolutely clear: Eating meat is bad for human health, catastrophic for the environment, and a living nightmare for animals." -Chrissie Hynde

Review: Top Chef - Meat Natalie {AOL TV}

Oct 29th 2009 3:35AM Vegetables are boring??? Huh? Of all the beautiful shapes, colors and textures - AND TASTES of vegetables- they are "boring"? Over 125 different veggies and that's not enough variety? Someone obviously doesn't know how to cook! What's boring is the very limiting taste of: beef, chicken, pork or fish... Now that's dull.

Why Do Young Boys Abuse Animals? {Asylum}

Aug 16th 2009 10:19AM Just curious... If/when these kids turn 18 and work in a slaughterhouse --- killing and dismembering millions of animals... is it all okay then?

Or what about persuing a moose, deer, rabbit or wolf with a gun? Does the act then become socially acceptable?

I think what kids are getting is a mixed message - There is no consistancy.

We do not "need" to consume animals to thrive... Therefore, killing all animals is for "pleasure" alone. For mere enjoyment of the taste. In this way, we are all kids killing moose and we are all M Vick. None of it is "necessary" - and done only for whim and personal enjoyment.

Thriving on a plant based diet seems to be the most morally consistant course. --- Go Vegan

PETA Unhappy Meals Targeting Kids {Slashfood}

Aug 15th 2009 9:52PM I am not affiliated with peta - however I am vegan and I'd just like to respond to the few comments about sustainability in the event of a planet which lived on a plant based diet. Actually, we would stop bringing animals into the world which would reduce methane gas significantly. Furthermore, we would be able to feed 6 to 10 times more people on a plant based diet. Converting grains/soy/vegetation into animal flesh and then consuming animals is very poor return for the same protein. Consuming the plants directly (instead of fattening animals) would feed approx. a billion people currently starving or mal nourished today.

And on the point of discriminating between the animals we pet and the ones we eat... if you could only step outside your speciesist view for a moment and realize these "food" animals are no different than the dogs and cats we have in our homes. Each is aware of the world and wishes to continue living. None wish to be confined, tortured or harmed. We do so only with a narrow exclusive view. Respecting all living beings is the most direct way towards a non-violent world.

Adolescent Vegetarianism on the Rise {ParentDish}

Mar 11th 2009 2:56AM Actually, that study was worded in a very awkward way... and lead to distorted and inaccurate figures. There are many more than just 1 in 200 kids going vegan or vegetarian - I'm certain of this. And the reasons are quite obvious... between concerns over health, the environment and certainly the animals - eliminating meat becomes quite a reasonable solution. Man can thrive on a plant based diet - kids are learning that we don't "need" meat to live... Indeed, the opposite is more true - Go Vegan.
