Nov 18th 2009 7:19PM LOL! Being "open-minded" abut the "evolution-creation debate" is akin to being open minded about round vs flat Earth debate. As has been said, one must keep an open mind, but not so open that one's brains fall out. Palin's (and, apparently, Ziegler's) did.

Of course; most of the conditions described as being genetic in basis are nothing more than predispositions. Prenatal environment counts for a lot, also. But one is not necessarily born gay, but only born with a specific behavioral bias to homosexuality. There is no "gay gene' just as there is no "lung cancer gene": there is only a combination of DNA, particular biochemistry of the womb you were conceived and carried to term in and a set of early life experiences. But genetics is probably the single most important causative agent.

You must be talking about some astrophysicists unknown to me. My background is in astrophysics and evolutionary theory and I must say that after biologists, astronomy/astrophysics is possibly the most 'atheicized" branch of science.
