NBA vs. NHL -- Who's Got the More Entertaining Playoffs? {Asylum}

May 5th 2009 7:42PM Typically I would say NBA, but their use of the "superstar rule" has just gotten out of control. Just look at the ridiculous nonsense Lebron got away with in the 1st round. He can pick up his dribble to dunk or lay it up a few feet past the half court line, gets to just plow through anyone with impunity and if an opposing player even thinks about defending him, they get called for a foul. And while he's the worst, there are numerous other players who get similar calls. Once David Stern takes a page from Vince McMahon's book and comes clean that the NBA is now simply sports entertainment, it may become worth watching again. Until then, it's hockey time!

The Lions Have Bottomed Out, Now an Intervention Is in Order {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Dec 29th 2008 6:27PM I'll continue to be a fan, but they won't get a nickel of my money until there's a significant change of some sort, ie Ford sells the team, hands over the reins to his son or seeks some sort of outside talent to help him completely remake the front-office.

Rage, Rage Against the Slight Shortening of College Football Games {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Dec 29th 2008 4:47PM I'm with Jack on this. College football is the only sport that I'll watch just about everything put in front of me, regardless of the game's importance to the national scene or relation to my team. Sure, I'll watch the occasional NBA game besides the Pistons if there's nothing else on, but fall Saturday's revolve around college football. I almost got in a fight with my roommate over his desire to watch Nip/Tuck dvds rather than the first Thursday game of the season (some random MAC v. no-one matchup) one year. So when my favorite sport that already has the fewest games around is cut down even further? That's just not cool.
