Girls are in charge, NOT the guys. Thus you could possibly say "Husband Swapping", but that's a bit sexist for our taste; and it doesn't cover the many situations where one wife simply desires another wife and has no interest in that wife's husband (for what it's worth - female bisexuality is extremely common and considered normal, while male bisexuality is rare).

Jun 10th 2008 1:25PM Dan and Jennifer are right on, and we love the comment from Mr Gentlenibbles (Houston does indeed have an absolutely amazing lifestyle community!). The swinging lifestyle has something for everyone; young and old, beautiful or with a few extra pounds.

As Mr Gentlenibbles points out, every type of social function is covered: including sporting events, camping, cookouts, motorcycles, cruises, travel, wine, and of course parties.

Venues include people homes, naturally, but also bars, clubs, hotels, resorts, parks, campsites, spas, cruise ships, and so much more. Check out the "Parties & Events" section of Kasidie.com to see a list of parties around the world.

You want "Mardi Gras with hot people"? You'll find it. You'll also find "engagement office party". Not every event is for every person, but there are parties for everyone. Just chose the right one for you; the people you meet will surprise you.

Jun 10th 2008 1:11PM Parties do take place in private homes. They also take place in clubs, bars, hotels, resorts, yachts, ocean liners, airplanes, bowling alleys, hot springs, camp sites, etc.

Sometimes they are exclusively for swingers, and other times they are part of an event (e.g. a swinger softball team playing in a vanilla league, a swinger social at Burning Man, etc).

You "infiltrated" a single party and formed a global opinion. Imagine if I knew nothing about, say, scuba diving and so took a class in New England with a group of grumpy people I had nothing in common with; forming an opinion about how scuba divers are odd because they all dive in cold murky waters and were all grumpy people. The truth is much richer than your single experience provided.

Jun 10th 2008 12:53PM Wow, you went to one party and formed an (incorrect) opinion about the community.

Sure, a lot of swingers are average - just as most folks are in the great bell curve of humanity. And there are some older people, heavyset people, and less attractive folks. There are also young people, thin and toned people, and incredible beautiful people.

As with anything else in society, "birds of a feather...". The party you attended was obviously a group of very similar - and happy - people.

You should check out some sites, such as the parties & events section of Kasidie.com to get a better feeling for the community. Go meet more people, especially party promoters and others in the industry.

Jun 10th 2008 12:40PM This is absolutely NOT correct. While almost any couple or single female can attend a swinger club or resort, that is not true for a swinger party, event or takeover.

Want to attend a Bliss party? You need to apply, and you'd better be young, hot and well off to even have a shot at getting in.

Want to attend a Nova Nilla event? Bring your Harley, non-riders won't have anything to do.

Want to attend the annual Kasidie "Gypsy Fire" party? Good luck, it's an extremely exclusive list.

As with any large social community, there is something for everybody...but not everything is for everybody. You will find great groups of people who are similar to you and who enjoy the same things you do. After all, making friends is the single best thing about the swinging lifestyle.
