News Flash: Men hate baby doll dresses {Stylelist}

Jun 27th 2007 12:29AM This article really makes me concerned for the future of journalism and news media in general. How about writing an article on something that really matters. There are so many pressing issues today such as global warming and the perilous state of the enviornment, humanitarian issues in places like Darfur and other third world countries, or the current political debates in the US in regards to the 2008 election. I don't understand why so many people feel that its important to comment on shallow issues such as whether men like a particular dress or the status of Paris Hilton's sentence when there are so many more important things going on in the world that the general American public is compeltely oblivious to. And it goes without saying that this article completely degrading towards women, propelling too mainstreamed stereotypes about feminine beauty and the female body. I think we have enough of this kind of shallow bullshit in the media as it is and it would be great for the world and society as a whole if people would step up and try to change the less than flattering aspects of the world today instead of continuing them in full force.
