Isn't it primarily men who:
1. try to controll their wives by controlling the money, especially in families in which the wife is not employed outside the home? Who don't consult/mutually plan investments, insurances, and even what rates exist on current loans, credit cards, and savings accounts with their wives.
2. spend money on illicit relationships with other women, whether a girlfriend, a mistress, or a date? Wait a minute, they not only don't tell about the money spent but also don't tell about having a illicit relationship itself! How many women have you ever heard of renting an apartment and otherwise supporting a man (menstress?)either while married or not?
So, again, I ask why does the article about lying about money only have two women talking about what they have done?

Jun 21st 2010 7:33PM Come on-the primaryi reason that families slept in the same bed or space in the past was because they had no more space or beds. They were too poor to afford more space or beds at the expense of food and other necessities! Show me when parents continued to sleep with their children when their economic condition increased enough to afford more space and beds.
I have children and now, grandchildren, and I know that now the reason for most is simple: they don't want to have to get up in the middle of the night to take care of an infant's needs! So all these narcissistic parents just plop the kid in bed with them.
Not only does that create new problems (ranging from child abuse because the child disturbs the sleeping parent(s) to lack of sexual intimancy), but it also puts the parents in the position of continuing the practice when the child(ren!) are too big to comfortably fit in the bed-because the parents have created an addiction/dependency in the children. And that dependency can be very difficult to end.

Oct 8th 2009 1:06PM I can't believe that anyone would actually believe that it would be ok to have to go out and buy some device to lower the volume on commercials, rather than the FCC require the volume be limited and the industry voluntarily limit it (not very effective, since any industry member can do whatever they want, anyway).
This is just another example of the USA becoming a third world nation-where the citizens have no say and no control.

We used to know enough to have requirements before people could enter the United States (think Ellis Island; and people who were possibly ill were quarantined until either well or determined to have a kind of illness that would be dangerous to the American people (like cause an epidemic, or even make them a public ward).
Of course the majority of Muslims are not fanatics willing to kill all non-Muslims; but America needs to get her guard back up and screen/restrict whom we let in, even for vacations and education. Wouldn't you do the same if a stranger appeared at your door?

Jun 17th 2008 8:17PM I intend to vote for Obama. However, I deeply resent his failure to celebrate his (white) mother and grandparents, who raised him, and to proudly talk of himself as multi-racial. Having multi-racial nieces and nephews and grandchildren, I am proud of all of them and I think that it is detrimental to multi-racial families and individuals for someone like Obama to not talk about and celebrate his multi-racial identity. Otherwise, it would appear that he is ashamed of his white relatives/genes or that he is pandering to black voters by only identifying himself as black.
