Initially, it was hilarious to see an article written by someone that doesn't know the difference between "had" and "hid", about a Superintendent that doesn't know how tape works.

From there, though, it was more disturbing:
Parents being outraged that children were thinking at school...
The Superintendent apologizing for, and thinking of disciplining, a teacher for not censoring, er, I mean, editing, the content...

I suspect a lot of the outrage, beyond the knee-jerk reaction to the anti-nationalist display, is the fact that so many people outside of Russelville now know how bad a job the school has done at teaching the students and how poorly the parents have communicated with their children.

On two occasions, I realized I left an item behind and immediately called the property, less than 12 hours after checkout. After giving them the address and my UPS account number for shipping, I was assured the items would be returned. In one case, nothing ever showed up. In the other, I left a new, $85 iron. It had been used just once, at that hotel. They said they had it and would return it. I received a banged up, dented, years-old $10 iron instead.

Why should they get a free pass? They signed up for a job, with full knowledge of the possible consequences, including getting killed.

Do all the first responders at the towers get to show up in Speedos? How about police and firefighters that risk their lives to save strangers? Or nurses and doctors and teachers...?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and suggest these gentlemen never showed up for work in shorts and baseball caps - they've known for decades about the concept of appropriate dress.

I for one, would feel rather awkward if I followed the dress code and everyone else felt they had a reason not to. I can imagine spending dinner with people pointing and talking about me, saying I must not have done anything heroic or significant, so I'm stuck wearing slacks and a dress shirt.

I wonder if the writer may be embarrassed by his lack of spelling and proofing skills... An amusing time to get it wrong, while you're talking about someone else's shortcomings.
