Oct 10th 2011 11:52AM People should be paying attention to who and what is going on in this 'Ghost Town'! How soon some forget the infamous "Jonestown" and the massacre that followed. Cults are all around, even some recognized and respected religious groups. I would hope the Feds are looking at this situation too, with all the potential issues in this day and time. The biggest problem we have in this country is the gullability of so many unchurched people that get sucked into these cults hearing messages from these saddists that makes them feel good. We'll all stay tuned on this one!

Nov 17th 2010 2:18PM What kind of message does this send to young people in this homophonic world we all have to deal with? Yes, a zero tolerance for hatemongering and bullying is the new order of the day. Everyone has an opinion and is free to express it, but not in the context of threatening others. Most student who profess their hate and misunderstanding for Gay people are just parrots repeating what their families and peers constantly belch due to their own ignorance often driven by religious intolerance and dogma. All children must be taught that it is wrong and evil to put upon others what their lack of knowledge (ignorance) happens to be!

Oct 18th 2010 1:25PM Some people are just gadget freaks, thinking every gimmick is gonna outdo standard things we've used for years. The power of advertising is strong, especially for the weak minded amongst us which seems to be a frightening bunch! What's wrong with a common century old can opener you just hand crank? Some people's kitchen drawers are full of useless gadgets when a good sharp knife will replace most of them and a good can opener that requires some minimal wrist action! And I prefer to use few cans as possible for a better diet of fresh!!

Children belong in private homes away from the public if they can't control themselves. Regardless of physical or emotional conditions, no one should have to endure screaming brats. People are selfish to think everyone enjoys children like they do and force themselves on others. "NO SCREAMING CHILDREN" signs should be everywhere, and if parents can't or won't control children, they they should be banned!!

Apr 1st 2010 3:58PM This is a total over reaction by the school! The Superintendent should be fired immediately for such antics! A parent is in charge and control of their children, only allowing the schools to instruct the kids during certain hours. Of course discipline is very necessary, and even paddling butts always worked when I was in school. The new systems of today don't allow such, but having confrontations with parents isn't the solution either. The school should simply confiscate contraband like cameras or cell phones if necessary, and then hold a calm discussion about the rules later.
I agree detention isn't the answer, it just makes the kids angrier and more determined to break the rules. The entire matter was totally mishandled!
