'Project X' Copycat Revelers Allegedly Wreck $500,000 Home {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 15th 2012 7:59PM Looks like some teens want to learn how to get a part time job in the summer and spend that money repairing this house and put in some time repairing this house.
Idle hands are the devil's playground. These kids shouldn't have any idle time left on their hands until they turn 21 years of age.
Renters Beware: Fraudsters Still Lurking on Craigslist {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 13th 2012 9:37PM I have never used Craig's List, and probably never will. I have heard too many bad things about it. My husband once bought some shoes from someone on Craig's List. The shoes were all worn and stinky.
I would always go through a licensed realtor to check out any piece of real estate prior to renting or purchasing, and call other realtors in the same region to ensure they are legit. Skirting the system usually means that someone has something to hide - foreclosure, avoiding taxes, property not up to code, mold damage, or worse.
California woman arrested in nail-painting incident on Southwest flight {Gadling}
Mar 10th 2012 11:59PM It is just wrong to pollute the air in an enclosed space on an airplane with the flamable fumes of nail polish. There could be folks on that plane who have asthma and other health problems. The passenger should have asked the flight attendants if she could open up a flammable bottle of nail polish in flight, not her fellow passengers. She probably knew that she couldn't do it, but deliberately skirted the problem hoping that no one would protest.
Family Faces Eviction Over Toddler's Noise {AOL Real Estate}
Feb 2nd 2012 1:00AM HOAs are just another excuse to take money for stupid reasons. I belong to one and all they do is complain.
By the way, if folks are reallly worried about their property values, they should be against putting in huge above ground oil pipelines that ruin views, and natural gas pipelines underground that make homes HCAs (High-Consequence Areas) in reality, it think the gas companies mean 'highly-combustible areas' being that there are 30 to 60 natural gas explosions a year that take place in the United States.
The more fracking that is done, the more huge underground high-pressure large feeder pipelines there are. An explosion of that kind of pipeline took place in Califoria and leveled an entire block of homes. Talk about lowered property values.
Our neighborhood with an HOA in Maryland has one of those huge high pressure feeder natural gas pipelines running through the easement. Dominion Power who owns the pipeline says that it is deteriorated, and probably needs replacing, but replacement of it is cost-prohibitive. Actually, they would just rather sit back and collect the money giving the profits to the wealthiest 1 percent. We can keep folks from driving over it, but that pipeline goes under roads, highways, and neighborhoods throughout the East Coast and the Midwest. Ever take a look at the natural gas pipeline grid that runs throughout our nation? Can you say 'terrorist target waiting to happen' just about anywhere?
Happy property values too all of you complaining whose homes do and do not use natural gas. You are all one deteriorated pipeline explosion away from lowered property values.
As the ripe young age of 55, I don't spend my time left on this planet fuming about stuff that I cannot control. Have fun while you're here, because you never know when it will end.
Family Faces Eviction Over Toddler's Noise {AOL Real Estate}
Feb 2nd 2012 12:40AM I bet the next door neighbors are morbidly obese lazy people who sit around like Jabba the Hutt. At least, an active toddler is not a fat unhealthy toddler. I hope that little girl grows up to be a beautiful famous actress who can dance, sing, and make enough money to buy the housing and kick out that complaining whiny couple who reside in it.
6 Amazing Anti-Frizz Hair Serums {Shopping Articles Blog}
Jan 15th 2012 12:02AM Fight winter frizz buy purchasing a good whole house humidifier. If you avoid static at home by having a good humidifier like those sold at Sears, then your clothes, hair, and pets will be static and frizz-free and you will never have to purchase any stupid serums.
'White Only' Pool Sign 'Decorative,' Landlord Claims {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 19th 2011 2:05PM If she was really worried about hair products in the pool, then she should have posted a sign requiring bathing caps like some public pools have posted in the past.
When I was growing up, the city public pools required folks to entirely shower before entering the pool area, including their hair. If you came out into the pool area with your hair all dry and styled, the lifeguards would tell you to either don a bathing cap before entering the pool or go back to the shower area and come back with wet hair. Those showers rinsed excess residue like hairspray and styling products out of the hair. Most women put on bathing caps.
HOA Forces Family to Remove Disabled Child's 'Therapy Home' {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 17th 2011 6:02AM Our HOA can change any of the rules, but to do so all of the homeowners would have to show up and vote on it. They have become slightly more relaxed about the types of fences that can go up by adding vinyl, but chain link is still a no go. One neighor is building a garage that is taller than his house. They have issues with that, and I will admit that it looks pretty stupid. Not even built in the same style. No one really wants to be in charge of our HOA, and half of the officers have quit. They all have lives, but they still need someone to make the decisions about spraying for mosquitoes, cutting up fallen trees, paving, having the annual neighborhood garage sale, the hours for trick or treating on Halloween, and staying in contact with the local cops to keep crime at bay.
Obese passenger forces neighbor on US Airways flight to stand for 7 hours {Gadling}
Nov 23rd 2011 9:36PM He should have sat on the fat passenger.
Video of the day: driving into Phoenix dust storm {Gadling}
Jul 16th 2011 4:27PM The troops had a ton of problems with their equipment and vehicles in the Middle East due to sandstorms depositing debris into them. I cannot begin to understand why someone would submit their vehicle to this kind of torture if it could be avoided by leaving it parked and covered over with a tarp.
