Oct 24th 2008 9:18PM A question to those who are anti-gay marriage. How does the marriage between two loving people, regardless of sex or sexuality, have ANY bearing or effect whatsoever on your lives? People are married daily, hourly. Straight marriages have no affect on my life, gay marriages would likewise have no affect. To be honest, it is absolutely none of your business who gets married to who.

I just find it absolutely incredible, reading some of the viewpoints on this subject. Some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves. jtpoulin is, as far as I'm concerned, the worst offender. I feel absolutely embarrassed for you. I read your comments and wonder how you operate in life with such beliefs. You're straight out of the dark ages.

There is absolutely NO good reason to vote for this proposition. Anyone who votes for it is simply a terrible example of a human being and I feel disgusted to share this planet with anyone who would support such a thing.

Aperture 2.1.1 now available {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 28th 2008 8:12PM Meh.. I've just gone back to Lightroom after trying out the Aperture demo for a couple of weeks. I was beginning to get on with Aperture but just found that the project/album/folder/book structure is far, far too complicated. I never quite understood whether I should be using a folder, album or project and when I should be using them. Lightroom has folders, which I automatically have generate by the image date, and collections - I can store projects in a collection but they're still in the folder by it's date too. I'm sure you could probably do this in Aperture but I couldn't work it out.

Some features in Aperture I REALLY like. The ability to store images essentially where you like, so you could have working images on your laptop and then move them to an archive on an external drive is great. You might be able to do this with Lightroom but I've not quite worked it out.

Overall, I think I prefer Lightroom, it feels a bit more immediate and less convoluted.

A Mac tablet? Not just no, but 'heck no' {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 23rd 2008 1:21PM "Okay, try this: if you have a keyboard on the desk in front of you, look at it. Now watch that keyboard for eight hours straight. Any ergonomic position that's comfortable for your arms is not comfortable for your neck, and vice versa."

Poor and invalid argument. Could I remind you that prior to computers, people used to write on pads of paper that were sat on a desk in front of them for eight hours a day. In fact, I recall being in school and staring down, writing on a pad of paper on my desk for several hours a day.
