Nov 24th 2011 12:34AM This passenger was obviously overweight and yes two seats should have been purchased by him but my question is were there other seats on the plane that our standing gentleman could have sat upon? Why didn't the standing passenger ask about an alternate seat, I would have.Safety is number one and if you cannot sit in the seat and buckle the seat belt because of circumstances out of your hands, then make the necessary decisions for your safety.Get another flight at the airlines expense,see about sitting in first class at no additional charge to you etc.Bottom line,this whole situation was handled very poorly and EVERYONE involved should take accountability for the part they played in this situation.

Apr 6th 2010 11:26AM Society places such a large emphasis on "Staying Young",and we as people buy everything under the sun and have all sorts of procedures done to us just to achieve that eutopia.Lets face facts,staying young is not in how many wrinkles you can make disappear, or how many surgeries you can have to lift this or tighten that,staying young starts on the inside.Now you can't wish yourself back to when you were say 18 but you can be "Happy" with who you are and where you are in life.Just be happy that you have made been BLESSED to get old,many will never see it...........

Feb 18th 2010 10:47AM Listen, our country and the economy are spiraling downhill.Everyone wants to blame Obama but lets be realistic.Obama did not cause our economic mess , we did as a nation.We didn't get this way overnight and to think that it can be fixed overnight is just stupid.Now, I'm not sitting up on a HIGH HORSE or anything, my family is struggling too.My husband has been out of work for months too and just trying to make ends meet is hard.We have to remember that you can't cover a crater with a bandage.It's going to take time for this mess to turn around.Look, I don't have the answers but I do know 1 man can't fix or clean up a mess that thousands have caused. It's just not realistic.

Nov 12th 2009 1:58PM Stupidity and ignorance.Why do all the comments on the stories which are posted come down to race?.This story is not about color or a race of people but about the theft of GUM.It seems that as a nation of people we really haven't come that far and many individuals will take any and every opportunity to throw race into the mix.Let's get away from our personal stereotypes and address the real issues at hand.If you have bias against a personal race of people or culture that is your opinion but everyone else should not have to be subjected to it.Try sticking to the points of the articles.

Sep 7th 2008 10:53AM Where have we gone as a nation?The old saying the rich get richer and the poor get poorer has never been more true.How can a company as big as Walmart stand up and say we're helping our employees when what they are doing is strangling them.If you want to help your employees you don't pay them with gift cards pay them a decent wage;so they will be able to get the necessities for their families.If you want to give them gift cards do it as an extra bonus not as payment in place of earned wages.
