Kid Gets Book for Christmas, Throws Tantrum Because, C'mon, A BOOK? {Urlesque}
Dec 24th 2010 8:56AM I think it is sad that the parents think this child's response was worthy of laughter instead of a scolding. I would have takent the books and the WII and donated them to shelter. In addition, I have read the comments about how many kids act this way. Just a reminder to everyone, if they see a child being polite (i.e. holding a door open for you), please say thank you. My sons are polite to others and far too many people just walk by without saying a word. If you want kids to act differently, encourage the good behavior, otherwise you are acting just as bad as this child.
'The Twisted Sisterhood' -- The Dark Side of Female Friendship Explored {Lemondrop}
Oct 25th 2010 11:01PM For many years some of my closest friends have been boys/men. I was introduced to the catty, mean-spirited nature of women was from my own mother. I would confide in her and she would go around telling her co-workers and friends what I had said. She would laugh about my isssues with them. Years later, my mother could not figure out why I did not have a lot of women friends. I had and have a very small group of women friends. These are women whom I trust completely. I am however, very cautious around women because of what I learned from my own mother.
Unsold clothes destroyed at H&M -- until Twitter roared. {WalletPop}
Jan 9th 2010 9:33PM If we don't like this policy, then tax laws need to be rewritten to make it more beneficial for companies to donate, rather than throw away. In most cases, this is about the bottom line, not about being cold hearted. In addition, I would not want open packages of food given to charities. I have seen what people do when they come in to stores, I would not want to push potential dangers/unsanitary items on to charitable organizations. So, before we scream at these companies and treat them like criminals, write your congressmen about the situation and have them change the tax laws.
What Killed 'The Jeff Dunham Show'? {Inside TV Blog}
Jan 1st 2010 10:55AM The format was all wrong for Jeff Dunham. His stand-up routines are hilarious. It really is ridiculous that people accept all kinds of comments from one kind of comedian, but not from another. Double standards abound! People need to rediscover their sense of humor and stop trying to make everything politically correct when they don't like what is being said.
Toddlers on the Brink: Worst Tantrums Ever {ParentDish}
Aug 2nd 2009 6:28PM First let me say that I have two children of my own. I had to run errands with both of them, but I always kept those errands short. I did not and do not tolerate my children calling me names or yelling at me. All too often I see kids getting away with murder in stores and elsewhere. These parents think because they tolerate this behavior ("They are just expressing themselves.") that everyone else needs to tolerate it too. Discipline is missing out of too many homes. If you do not believe in spanking, fine, but DO SOMETHING!!!!
How do the new summer Starbucks blends stack up? {Slashfood}
Jul 9th 2006 7:45AM I love pomegranates, but this drink did not taste like any pomegranate I've ever had. It was ok for a hot summer day, but it needs to be listed as some other flavor. I don't think I'll be buying it again. I may try the tangerine and see if it's better.
