Jun 10th 2011 12:07PM I'm a "younger person" and wanted to add my two cents. Sometimes I just think I was born in the wrong era or something. I LIKE the older ways. Technology is a good thing but damaging in lots of other respects. Everything revolves around instant gratification these days. I don't own a dishwasher or a microwave oven and never will. Washing dishes by hand isn't a chore. It's how you look at it. For me and my better half it's time we spend together instead of vegging out in front of the tv. We put some soft music on and we take turns ...who will wash, wo will dry. We talk, laugh, (occasionally leave the dishes for a few minutes to enjoy a slow dance). Two people, and lots of dishes because we cook together too. We don't need to have dinner done in 3 minutes thanks to the microwave. Yuck. I don't know. Must be the "June Cleaver" in me. I love this article and the old footage...lol.
