May 14th 2010 1:44PM I'm the poster child for how these standardized tests are a waste. Your approach, however, is ideal. What kind of 8-year-old is interested in taking a boring standardized test? If I knew that one test was gonna set me up for a lifetime of underachievement, I might have tried harder. Ohhhh, the burdens of being 8, huh? I bombed on the math portion. And although I had perfect grades and was often the first one done my work in class, because I bombed I was sent to an AP math class. It took them a matter of days to realize I didn't belong there, as I was finishing my work in the first 5 minutes and spending the rest of my time drawing. Wow, they didn't need a standardized test to figure that out, huh? Then in the following months, as I expressed high interest in what the "Gifted and Talented" kids got to do, my mom battled the school system in and effort to get me in. And still, despite being an outstanding student, I was restricted to mediocrity due to a standardized test that I took when I was 8. By the time I was 10, I realized I didn't have to do my best anymore because it didn't get me anywhere. I sailed along doing the minimum to keep my parents satisfied, and that was that. What a waste of huge potential.

If you claim they are a form of expression, then what exactly are you expressing yourself to? The wall? And what does it say about the depth of your character of you have to plaster your interests on your body? You deplore people for being shollow, yet you want to express yourself via your skin. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. And I think this is the kind of lower intelligence that Jerry is referring to. Dec 1st 2009 10:03AM I can understand most people's negative opinions toward fat people. They look like they don't take care of themselves. Which suggests that they have low self-worth, low self-esteem, and low energy WHICH suggests that they are boring, lazy, etc etc etc... Not very attractive attributes, for sure. So it's no surprise that not very many people are quick to befriend fat people or even associate themselves with them. People are judgemental and that'll never end. But you know what? To each their own. But to be outright hatefull boggles the mind.

Alice has serious issues. If it wasn't for fat people, she'd find some other group of people to have such a total venomous attitude towards. And I'm pretty sure that fat people everywhere are totally fine with the fact that she avoids them. Since a large portion of the country is overweight, she's probably a hermit anyhow.

What a horribly weak person one must be to hate someone rather than to reach out and be a friend, then perhaps HELPING someone with working out their unhealthy livestyles. This world shouldn't be so afriad to love one another. So many horrible things have come from hate.

I deliver pizzas for a living, YES, for a LIVING because not too long ago, I'd make more money part time than most people make full time on minimum wage. People NEED to understand that I am NOT driving around this over-crowded town (Vineland, NJ) for my $4/hour rate... I work for TIPS! No one would do this job if it wasn't for tips. What would you lazy cheepskates do if delivery went into oblivion because no one can make a living off of it anymore? This is the only job that makes sense for me while I'm raising a baby and putting myself through school. Thank God that there are people out there who make this job somewhat worth it, desipte how bad it's gotten. Show some appriciation, folks, it's not asking much.

Oct 9th 2009 8:38AM I'm sorry to hear you are unhappy with your Saturn. But you seem to be part of the tiny minority. Saturns are GREAT cars, and GM is foolish for wanting to get rid of them. The economy is awful right now and they need to learn to suck it up like the rest of us. Their Saturns are more likely to pull them out of this mess rather than sink them farther into the hole. My first car was a '98 SL2, and it's still kickin. I've had very few problems with it. GM needs to realize that Saturns aren't selling right now because it's the car of the middle class, and we aren't exactly in the position to make such a large purchase right now! Saturns will save them in the long run... I hope they realize this before it's too late!
