Searching For a New Vacuum? {AOL Hot Searches}
Aug 24th 2008 1:53PM I "inherited" my mom's 20 yr. old Sears Kenmore canister vac when I got married in 1980 (mom had finally bought herself a new one). The original Kenmore still worked fine when I got her "new" one 10 years later! I bought my very own brand-new Kenmore in 1995 and it's still working great. I tried a friend's big Kirby one time but that thing was very hard to push around, too bulky to maneuver in smaller areas and didn't seem to do a very good job...couldn't believe how much she paid for it. I have other friends who swear by their Dysons and they both have dogs who shed a lot.
Actress Kristen Johnston drops 60 pounds {That's Fit}
Jun 18th 2008 5:26PM To: lobo or neal or whatever your name is...you need to get off that obsession with the arm fat thing. Over a certain age, any woman who isn't stick thin and/or doing weight training exercises for her triceps is going to have a little something "flapping in the breeze" -- in some cases, maybe even just older SKIN that loses some of its elasticity naturally. If that's your idea of gauging whether a person is "fat" or unhealthy, you need to do some more research.
More Reasons Why Men Should Be Washing Their Hands {Asylum}
Feb 11th 2008 11:40PM I'm speaking for myself only (but there are most likely many others who feel this way)...Guys, if you want to put your hands/mouth/penis inside or on any part of me, then you better keep them clean! I have tried every possible way (nice -- funny -- teasing -- nagging) to encourage my man to wash his hands more frequently and thoroughly, yet still he gives me the "angry little boy face" when I mention it. And don't even get me started on the pathetic 10 seconds' worth of teeth brushing that he bothers to do! Thank God he keeps the rest of his body much cleaner. I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have to help me make him understand how important a clean mouth and clean hands are, especially when it comes to being intimate. And, yes, I've explained it to him in just that way...figured I'd go for the "sex angle" as motivation...lol. Thanks!
E-Mail, Text Messages, IMs Cost The US $650 Billion in 2006 {Switched}
Dec 28th 2007 10:45AM This is off the main topic here...but I just have to vent a little. I hate to say it, being a female myself, but I agree with Artful Dodger about the women driving SUVs and talking on cell phones. Not to say there aren't plenty of men out there driving and using cell phones, too, but maybe I just notice it more with women...especially since they often have two or more childen in their giant SUVs with them, all the while blabbing away on their cells, seemingly oblivious to the traffic and what's going on around them! They are a safety hazard to themselves, their children, and every other driver around them. What could possibly be so important that they MUST speak on that cell phone all the time? This applies to all who use their phones excessively. Get a grip, people.
Dangers of Lip Balm {AOL Video Blog}
Dec 17th 2007 3:39PM Started using Bonne Bell Watermelon LipSmacker in the mid-70's when it was the hottest thing among teens at the time...and it came in a jumbo size tube! I still use it today and am never without my LipSmacker. At least it's in a normal lip balm size tube now. Just be careful of those medicated type balms...they do tend to dry your lips out. And Chap-Stick? Ick! Way too waxy.
Beverly Hills Diet founder dead at 63 {That's Fit}
Oct 30th 2007 9:53AM According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, "svelte" means "slender, lithe"...unless Ms. Mazel was 5' 2" or shorter, I can't imagine how 108 lbs. would qualify her as "slender." More likely, a person of that size should be referred to as "skinny, extremely thin, emaciated, stick figure-like," etc. No wonder our preteen girls are dieting and obsessing about their weight, when society considers any female over a size 4 to be "fat." How about we just focus on getting HEALTHY instead of trying to diet/exercise ourselves into bodies that resemble young boys, rather than the natural curvy shape that WOMEN are by nature designed to be?!

Oct 18th 2007 9:43AM I was about to comment on the same thing as pderoo 1...where are the pictures?? Useless article. And I'm with you, Diana...there's never much help offered for fine, thin hair. My hair also happens to be wavy which, believe me, is a terrible combination. I call it WIMPY! The best I can do is let it mostly air dry whenever possible and work with the slight curls to direct them into a reasonable "style." It's been a problem for me my whole life and, especially now that I'm older (48) and have moved to hot humid Florida from NJ (talk about a bad hair day...in Florida it's a joke trying to make less-than-perfect hair look decent)! I've often fantasized about a world where women could be bald and then we'd just decorate our shiny heads as we liked! LOL and don't stress about your tresses, ladies. Life's too short.
Beauty Before Age {oldstylelist}
Oct 4th 2007 8:11PM Philosophy's Supernatural foundation is great, especially if you want a natural look and feel. And it works well here in Florida where it's so hot and humid most of the year. Clinique's Take the Day Off makeup remover is fantastic for waterproof mascara and long lasting lipstick ...with no tugging at delicate eye area skin and no burning eyes. Any recommendations for a good lip stain type product, one that would give you some nice color to your lips that you could top with other lipsticks and/or glosses?? Thanks!
Best Opening Lyrics: No. 10 {Spinner}
Sep 30th 2007 5:35PM To Sabrina who said: "Can Bruce still sell out arenas WORLDWIDE? NOPE!!! But you know Bon Jovi can!!! They still do 20 years later!!! Bruce WAS known for his blue collar songwriting yet has Bruce sold over 150 Million albums? NOPE! Bon Jovi just had another #1 album within the last month in an era when fewer are buying CD's due to the amount of people who download off the net! When was Bruce's last #1 album? LMAO!"...and Lisa who asked, "Where is Bruce anyway?" -- You two ought to pay attention to what's going on in music news. Bruce and the E-Street Band have a new album coming out this Tuesday, Oct. 2nd, called "Magic." Their worldwide tour begins that same night. Most venues sold out their tickets in minutes. I believe Bruce has won approx. 15 Grammy awards and don't forget his Academy Award (for "Streets of Philadelphia"). Springsteen, especially with the E-Streeters, still puts on a HELL of a live concert...and they rock the house each and every time! I (obviously) love Bruce but I am also a fan of Bon Jovi. I fondly refer to Jon Bon Jovi as "Baby Bruce." There should be no nastiness and arguments about the two groups, or any others. We all have our faves. Just get the facts right before you go bashing the musician or group you don't like.
