Woman Terminates Adoption Because She Can't Bond With The Child {ParentDish}
Oct 1st 2009 3:37PM If "She and her husband have five biological children and decided that they wanted more" why is it just mom who is getting flamed for giving up the baby?
Add Charles Barkley to Very Long List of People Who Hate Gene Chizik {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}
Dec 16th 2008 10:20AM What about the University of Washington coach Tyrone Willingham? He was hired BECAUSE he was black and the school wanted to appear more diverse. Then he ran the once proud program to a pathetic 0-12 this season. No matter which way racism goes, its not good for the candidate or the school. I think Auburn will see the error of its ways in the next couple seasons.
If we are wrong in thinking this and Chizik turns this program around, I hope Barkley is man enough to admit he was wrong.
Scientists Say Men Know When You're Cheating {Lemondrop}
Nov 6th 2008 4:23PM John Dumas, that logic would only make sense if every man and woman was in a relationship all of the time.
The Palin Follies {Politics Daily}
Nov 6th 2008 2:40PM I've liked Jindall since I happened to be in the audience of The Tonight Show when Leno interviewed him. Unfortunately, he then said he was not interested in joining the ticket (this was before the nomination but when McCain was the only GOP candidate standing) until things were right in his own state. Which, considering his state is LA, could be a while.
Best Concession Speech Ever? {Politics Daily}
Nov 5th 2008 4:55PM Rias10, its time to let it go. No one can vote for McCain now so don't waste your ignorant breath defaming him. Most Obama supporters like myself have always considered McCain a great man. Running a negative campaign painted him in a bad light, but he deserves to be respected as proven by his speech. I didn't vote for him because I don't think his policies are what we need right now (and because of Palin), but if he had made it in 2000 I think the country would currently be in a much better place than it is.
mac7dad, I agree, this speech was better than the concessions of Gore and Kerry. I think it's because in this election, it was not the usual 'lesser of two evils' situation that we often face, but instead a choice between two good, qualified candidates. I mean, come on, can you imagine having to give a speech after being beaten by Bush? McCain was gracious in defeat because he was beaten by someone he knows is great and deserving.
Smart Kids Are More Likely to Become Drunks {Asylum}
Oct 24th 2008 5:19PM Eh get over yourself. Out of all my honor student friends from high school, we all drank then and the ones I still speak to all drink now. Not, however, more than our other friends. This whole smart people have problems because they can see all that is wrong in the world theory is BS. I think every adult can see that there are problems. In my experience, most of the young people that go crazy with drinking do it because they were so focused on school or restricted by their parents growing up that they don't know how to deal with the revelation of turning 21.
"Beat Obesity with a Stick" -- Are you cool with this ad? {That's Fit}
Oct 15th 2008 12:52PM There are tons of anti-smoking ads. And they are usually WAY more graphic than this supposedly offensive ad. The reason smokers don't complain is cause they actually ADMIT their habit is unhealthy. Why do obese people refuse to do the same?

"Beat Obesity with a Stick" -- Are you cool with this ad? {That's Fit}
Oct 15th 2008 12:26PM What you don't understand is that it's not about thin people being better than fat people. It's just in that one area, they are healthier. There ads that try to influence people to lots of other healthy behaviors, such as not smoking, saying no to drugs, drinking 'responsibly,' and yes, losing weight. They are not saying that one bad health habit is worse than another. In fact, the article says this ad is part of the Thrive campaign. This implies that Kaiser is doing a lot of ads to get people to be healthy. I don't think they are picking on any one bad health habit. The only reason this one ad is an issue is that obese people are too sensitive about THEIR particular bad habit.
"Beat Obesity with a Stick" -- Are you cool with this ad? {That's Fit}
Oct 15th 2008 11:10AM Obesity is not the last acceptable prejudice. What about smoking? I never hear smokers complaining about all the anti-smoking PSAs out there. Those ads are much more prevalent and usually much more direct, showing graphic images of what smoking does to your body and making fun of the physical appearance of smokers. But like I said, smokers don't get offended, because they don't pretend their habit is healthy. That doesn't mean they are able to fix the problem immediately, but they admit that their lifestyle is gross and is killing them. When will obese people realize the same thing?
