Passenger Arrested After Ingesting 91 Heroin Tablets {AOL Travel News}

Jan 6th 2011 5:28AM We should actually legallize all drugs and eliminate the black market that causes many of the main problems associated with drugs. If people want to put bad crap into their own bodies, let them. If they try to commit other crimes for drug money, the state must get involved, but that already happens now. With no black market, the prices would at least be reduced, so druggies would not have to steal as much. Making drugs legal would not make more people all-of-a-sudden decide to start using drugs. In fact, other countries that legallized drugs saw less drug use afterward, but many still had nasty black markets for the drugs that were not legallized.

Jan 6th 2011 5:18AM Pdq, I agree that money isn't everything, but legallizing drugs will not make people just decide to go and do them. People already ignore the drug laws to do them, creating a black market full of shady people making money by using questionable methods. I would like to see fewer addicts, but the war on drugs is not working in its current form. Also, we seem to have developed a society that wants govt to make all the important decisions for everyone rather than foster personal responsibility by allowing people to make their own decisions. We can fight a better war on drugs by legallizing them and informing more people of the risks of making poor personal decisions. Some will still fall through the cracks as they already do, but we would see far fewer incidents of drug lords killing people, far fewer drug-related robberies (except perhaps in stores that sell drugs - much like liquor stores), and put a big dent in organized crime by taking out a large money-maker for them.

Jan 5th 2011 4:15PM Well, if they would just legallize drugs, they would not have to worry about said smuggling. Same with the drug lords. They would be forced to go legit or lose money. Prices would go down for drugs, and we would get rid of the black market for them. If someone wants to put bad crap into their own bodies, let them. Just don't use it as an excuse for bad behavior from doing so. We learned that prohibition doesn't work with alcohol, but we somehow think it will work for drugs?

All About AMT: How a Tax Meant for the Wealthy Could Affect You {WalletPop}

Jan 4th 2011 4:39AM It's funny that people can take a look at all the numbers from the last time when Republicans were in control and see that the rich paid almost all the federal income taxes and the bottom 47% of income earners paid 0 (with many even getting returns after paying 0 -- basically welfare built into tax policy). I dunno where people come up with the idea that Republicans won't have the rich pay any taxes or will tax the crap out of the middle class. Wasn't Obama and the others just now fighting to keep the middle clss tax cuts that they alleged did not exist? If Bush did not cut any taxes for poor and middle class earners, then what was all that stink about?

The Obama Tax Deal: 5 Things You Need to Know {AOL Small Business}

Dec 20th 2010 2:33AM The Democrats still have a majority until January, so you can't say that Republicans had their way on this bill or that the Democrats didn't like it enough.
I think it was a bad deal. I like that we did not have a federal income tax hike in a recession, but the spending is ridiculous. The death tax hike makes this bill effectively a form of tax hike in a recession, too. The Republicans might have done better to fight it more until the newly-voted-in Congress got a chance to do what Americans voted them in to do.

Player Kicked Off High School Football Team for Wearing Pink Cleats {Fanhouse Backporch}

Nov 13th 2010 2:24PM Wow, what is wrong with you guys? They let him wear the shoes to a game, even though I would imagine their team has rules, just like many do. They likely have a UNIFORM requirement on their TEAM that requires them to wear the same clothes (including cleats). After being told to put on regular cleats at practice, the boy defied the coach and the team's rules, so they let him go. Just try wearing pink shoes at a JOB that requires black shoes and see how well that goes over with the management. Defy them and see what happens. It is a privilege to be on a football team, not a right. Follow the rules and you might get to keep that privilege. . .

Controversy over Wal-mart on Civil War battlefield {Gadling}

Jun 1st 2010 4:39PM People always freak out about Walmart expanding, and people try to fight Walmart building new stores anywhere. It's ridiculous. If you hate Walmart so much, then quit buying stuff from them. I plan to continue getting a discout there until some other store can outcompete Walmart. People complain about Walmart building in obscure locations, but Walmart still makes money there, even in a recession. This article even says that Walmart is trying to build on the land next to the historic site, not on the site. If you care so much about that land, then how bout you buy it up to protect it instead of trying to fight a company through law and politics that just wants to make more money with another good location to sell stuff from?

Elena Kagan Tapped as Next Supreme Court Justice {Politics Daily}

May 11th 2010 10:57AM By definition, a conservative would better fit the role of a supreme court justice. They try to "conserve" the constitution and the ideals of the founding fathers who made our constitution. If a supreme court justice is supposed to make sure our laws are constitutional or that the enforcement of our laws adheres to the constitution, why would we want a "progressive" who wants to change our country to be closer to socialism and further from what our constitution compels? They should filibuster this one.

Does ABC's New 'V' Series Have a Right-Wing Agenda? {Asylum}

Nov 20th 2009 10:20AM Funny. "V" shows how easily people can be fooled into giving up power just as it did before with the theme of how the Nazi's did it, only updated to match today's standards of what people want, and it looks just like what the leftists have been doing to us. So much that even the leftists think it is a slam on Obama and the far left. Maybe through a fictional show the folks will wake up? Granted that the left are not literally reptilian aliens, they seem to be snakes who want full control at our expense.
