Did collection calls contribute to Floridian's death? {WalletPop}
Sep 18th 2009 9:23AM oh, and if you're wondering how it is that the account was turned over to a debt collection agency in the first place...i must be one of those "deadbeats" right? wrong again. i had tried to explain my situation to the company as well. think they cared? nope.

The only ones hiding are the deadbeats who DON'T pay their bills...
Honest responsible citizens who intend to pay but maybe can't for whatever reason will stay in contact with the creditor and attempt to make arrangements...
--> yeah, um, sorry to break it to ya, but that's not necessarily true. i fell on some financial hardship a few years back, and tried unsuccessfully to explain to a debt collector what had happened, and that i had every intention of paying the bill but that i just needed a little more time. let's just say he was not very understanding that day. or later that day when he called back. or the next day... yeah, you get the idea. these people have one goal--to get their money. that's all they care about, and they wear blinders to circumstances.

Because "Brown Pride" represents Spanish heritage while "White Pride" represents lynching people that aren't white
--Not exactly. I think that everyone has a right to be proud of their heritage. Unfortunately, due to a few racist wackos (like the Aryan Nation and KKK) white people are told that we are not allowed to be proud of who we are. I guess "pride" is supposed to be reserved for people of "color" only...
PETA Unhappy Meals Targeting Kids {Slashfood}
Aug 7th 2009 5:52PM "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals?" How about the ethical treatment of children? This is just horribly cruel. There is no need to psychologically scar children just to push the message of veganism. And as for the remark made by one of their spokes-tyrants about children seeing much worse in movies and video games, that is a very generalized statement. There are parents out there who monitor what their children see. And I for one certainly don't want my children seeing crap such as what PETA is distributing.
Remembering Rev. Ike, 1935-2009 {BV Black Spin}
Aug 1st 2009 4:47PM That stuff about not seeing a rich man mugging someone is ridiculous. No, rich people may not physically hurt anyone, but they have other ways of screwing people (anyone ever heard of Bernie Madoff? How about that guy at Enron?!) The Bible says it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.
'Orphan' Angers Adoptive Parents {ParentDish}
Jul 22nd 2009 1:01PM I usually don't even post on these message boards, but this time I feel compelled to. First of all, I really think that certain groups need to stop being so overly-sensitive. I can't get online and read the news anymore without there being an article about some groups being "offended" about something someone else has said or done. Anyone who refuses to adopt a child based on this (or any other) movie probably has no business having children in the first place. Secondly, as for the over-abundance of children awaiting adoption, I would think that probably has more to do with the extremely high fees, than with fears based on a movie, or "myths." Stop charging people upwards of $20,000 and maybe you'll have a lot more prospective parents.
College Grads to Congress: We Need Jobs {Politics Daily}
Jul 18th 2009 2:42PM I was told my whole life that if I got a college degree I'd be guaranteed a good job. So I did what I was told; went to college, made the dean's list, graduated with a bachelor's degree in May '07. Two years went by, as well as many interviews, but no job. This spring I finally gave up the search, and went back to school for 6 weeks to become a certified nurse's aid. Upon graduation from that I had a job in two days. I'm planning to go back to college again and get a degree in nursing. Perhaps the problem with some (obviously not all) college grads is that they majored in things that just aren't in demand.
Nivea and Lauren London Both Pregnant by Lil Wayne? {The Boombox}
Jun 16th 2009 1:09AM whoever it was that said "at least he can afford these kids" that don't matter, it takes a lot more than just money to take care of kids.
Students Get X-Rated Lesson {ParentDish}
Jun 16th 2009 12:43AM OK, first of all, the kind of things that Jenna Jameson does are not "normal" sex acts. And second, and more importantly, kindergarten, first grade, and even fifth grade students have no business seeing ANY sex acts, normal or not. You are obviously an idiot.
Burger King Ad Inappropriate for Kids? {ParentDish}
Apr 9th 2009 11:33PM The uptight tools who find this ad offensive need to pull the sticks out of their a**es and just chill. It's funny. Quit looking for things to be offended by.
