Native Indians were busy brutally slaughtering each other before the White man ever stepped foot on North America. If you don't know that, then you haven't read much history. Yes, it's become vital we close our borders - to everyone. Don't you get it? There are people who want to destroy America. They're coming across our borders without resistance. People other than Mexicans --OTM's. I understand people are literally dying to get to America so they can live the American Dream. What get's in the way of it are the people coming here sucking off the teat of the American taxpayer. They go to the emergency room and someone has to pay -- that's the American citizen. They kill people with their vehicles, they murder and rape. One third of our prison population are illegal immigrants. When they're not getting caught they slip across the border with impunity only to come back across to do it again. Why should we tolerate it? If they want to come let them come here like my grandparents, and millions of people have come -- legally. By-the-way you said "Those native Americans have an ancestral history going back thousands of years" If you believe that gives them land rights then you surely believe Israel belongs to the Jews. Just crack open your Bible. The first documented land transaction was when Abraham bought a burial place for his wife, Sarah in Hebron. Most know it as the West Bank...

Nov 18th 2009 7:55PM Don't worry. If you're Black or another minority you'll get through your trials with the help of the truly bigoted, "racism by low expectations" Left. You won't be made to struggle to grasp concepts or learn English, spelling and grammar because it's racist to force classical standards on people "of color." That would be "offensive." Intellectually you won't be lifted up. You won't have a sense of personal pride that you struggled and prevailed. No, instead you'll nurture a sense of entitlement that only being a perpetual victim can bring. So when you fail standardized testing don't worry, Affirmative Action is still available for you who miss the mark. You'll be lifted above individuals who excel far above you(think some Caucasians, Asian and African Nationals) but you'll be the one getting into medical school or University. All we can hope is that you don't get another Affirmative Action nominee for a surgeon for your children.
